Tron ramps?

Cannot confirm for Tron, but many pins used zip ties to fasten wires to ramps. My TZ has a bunch of zip ties holding the wiring close to the ramps.

Its there. Its not as offensive as everyone makes it out to be / not an eyesore.

And yes, TZ, most bally / wms games- zip tie wiring harness to ramps, always. See no one notices.

So, a $6500 pin that was made in 2011, has zip ties holding on the EL wire?

That has to be the most interesting thing ever. They produced the ramps to go in the game and didn't even make a groove for the wire to fit into???

Wow.

Thats nothing - i can pick 20 things they cheaped out on (single coin door slot, pegs + clasps on pro version, cheap cabinet wood, the Tron arcade mod is the cheapest plastic ive ever seen, the list goes on).

Yes, i still buy them. Why? I love to play them! They did get that right. They also hold up. Just dont shake em too hard.

Wow.

Tell us then. How would you do it? A grove? That is stupid because with all the bends it wouldn't lay flat and just pop out of the grove.

I have not played or seen the game, this is just second hand information I received from someone after visiting PHoF.

I just find it hard to believe that something "better" was not used to attach the fiber optic wire to the ramps.

And yes, a form fitting groove, molded into the ramps would not only disperse the light throughout the plastic, it would look a whole lot better. From the statement above, is that not possible?

Stern has been "cheaping" out on everything lately. It's not really a surprise...

I think the lit ramps should have been on the pro version too...

Yes, it seems so. The IM I had seemed to be well built.

No ball trails
Pieces of rubber not flying out (just not a one off, a BUNCH of machines)
Chrome not flaking off and rubbing down to metal

To me, it seems like a swing and a miss from Stern, theme aside.

My LE only cost $5,500 so not sure where $6,500 comes from. Haters gonna hate on Stern. Look at every company out there right now much less one struggling to stay alive with a relatively outdated product. The economy sucks and they have to find places to save money, big deal.

.....and boom goes the dynamite. Well done.

The price of $6500 is from current sales that people can buy a Tron today, not when it opens up for original sale.

This is only an observation on the quality of build on a high priced current pin.

Other posters are defending Stern on cheap parts...

You don't own one and obviously have no intention of buying. I'm not going to say that means you don't get to complain about the quality but really... why should you even give a fuck.

This is trolling.

Not trolling, only an observation on how the fiber optics are connected. The people that are getting defensive are the people who purchased this game.

You are correct. I will not be purchasing a Tron until the value falls (and my personal opinion is that it will). I love the theme. I have not played or seen one personally and look forward to doing so.

I will continue to purchase well established games that I have played back in the early/late 90's. This is my comforst zone.

And to Jack****** (fitting)....When did BSM come into play?
