All,
[before you respond with usual Tron suggestions I appreciate if you read my post and what I have done thus far!]
I have a Tron running the original power supply (with Bob Roberts rebuild kit and lithium battery mod) that has been working well for 8 months or so. Recently I turned it on and all my high scores were gone. I played a game and after about 3 levels game started a reboot cycle.
Troubleshooting:
1. I replaced lithium battery.
2. I checked power on both the power supply and PCB. PCB cap is testing at 5.05.
3. I checked for AC ripple on the PCB cap. Nothing material.
4. I pulled PCB stack and pulled and re-seated the interconnect cables. These are new cables that have been working since my PCB was repaired last year.
5. I have reseated the connectors to the PCB stack and even tried to boot the game with just the video and one back connected connected.
On cold boot (game off for a few minutes) Tron main screen comes up - then quickly goes into a reset. After that all I get is weird garbage I have never seen before. See photos below.
Next: I have an Arcadeshop Switcher adapter... just for kicks I tried that adapter. Same results. This leads me to believe it is something with my PCB.
I'm out of ideas. Also frustrated. I have like 14 games and nothing is as unstable as this Tron! Even my EM pinball is more reliable.
