It sounds great but I can't barely hear anything coming from the back box speakers. Is that normal? I would have thought the low freq would come from cabinet woofer/speaker and mids/highs from the back box?

I know there are a ton of Mods. Anyone care to add to the list below and which ones are "must haves".
shaker
arcade 2.1 mod
recognizer mods
elwire ramps

Thanks for the clue on Cliffy Protectors. Going to put a list here with pics and links. A great thread on this is here http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/project-tron-pro

I'd hold tight on the EL wire ramp mod. There's a guy doing a color-changing fiber optic ramp mod that is going to blow the EL mod out of the water. You can read about it here:

Here's a great reference filled with pics of pretty much every Tron mod under the sun:

Here's the list of what I've done to mine:

Blue DMD and pinbits filter
Arcade 2.1
Light-up Flynn's sign
Light-up Hallmark Light Cycles
Light-up Recognizer
Light-up mirrored disc speaker grilles
Shaker motor
Drop-down bank target decal
Pinbits pop bumper dress up kit
Full LED

Probably a couple more that I can't think of at the moment...

thanks for links. I was reading another thread earlier this morning on pinside as well. My timing on picking up the Tron Pro is great....I get to reap the rewards of everyone else's hard work :)

As far as sound goes you should be getting plenty of sound from the back box. Might want to check the plugs, during transport it's possible they came loose? Stern does not send the lows to the woofer and highs to the backbox. Though that would be ideal and make for the best overall sound, they just send full frequency everywhere.

If you want to separate frequencies and have upgraded sound check out www.pinballpro.com

I was thinking about getting a sound kit but will first do some basic troubleshooting on existing. Thanks for the hint and link.

Finally got around to looking into sound issue. The back box speakers definitely weren't putting out sound.
First, the connectors to the speakers are soldered, which makes it a bit harder to troubleshoot, imo. How do you know if they are soldered well except to reflow?

Anyway, I unplugged and plugged the connector to the sound board and one that goes to the back box speaker and they started working. I looked under the playfield for a connector for the 8in speaker but couldn't one, easily.

Put everything back and the back box speakers work now. It looks like the back box speakers are wired in series. + goes to - and there is a capacitor in the loop as well.

Nice job hunting down the fix.

I'm still waiting until I can pick up my Tron. It should be in the next week or so. I really can't wait to get it and start playing with some mods and, oh, uh, yeah, playing it too!
