so i was replacing the inner art on my tron earlier today, and got it looking perfect, all lined up, adhered with no bubbles, etc. i then go to put the big plastic shroud in and it was so tight going in the angled corners in the back put a big gash in the right side of the inner art.

what the fuck? seriously, they didn't see this at the midway plant when they were putting them together? anyways, aside from the paint it scratched out of the cab, i did manage to fix the gouge with a piece of the cut art i had left after trimming to fit. just frustrating after dropping the coin on new art.

yeah. i'll post them tomorrow. gotta grab a can of paint to touch up the scuff in the paint in front of the art, and then i'll post pics.

but basically what it was was a triangular tear about 1.5" around halfway up on the edge, so it just took out a piece of the orange. i cut a piece of orange/black to cover it and go over slightly, and it works. doesn't look perfect but looks decent in regular light, and you can't tell with the game on and the blacklights going. so it works...

I feel ya. I had similar troubles when remounting the tinted glass back into my VS. cab. Freaking gouged some vinyl and paint. Not nearly as bad as what you had, but it still sucked.

Yeah, I remember doing mine and seeing how much of a problem that could have been. I had a couple of close calls installing my control panel , but was lucky not to scratch it.

Next time put some 2 inch wide painters tape over the top of the artwork you want to protect while you're assembling.

dude(jedi).. you saw it...om the one who inspired you enough to fix yours!!!

with mine, sound was krapping out so i made a new sound harness.. then game started getting glitchy, for some reason the mcr i fixed is now only putting out 4 volts.. and when i got to checking fuses one of the blocks fell apart in my hand...

so im pissed off at it so its going to sit for awhile untill i have the patience to dig back into it..

the mcrs oging to go bye bye in favor of a brand new switcher and adapter...

and the block will be replaced...

if it still has issues after that mabye ill turn it back into the pile of krap it started as and call it a day
