Tron Pinball - Official Info

I would imagine quite a few people here will be looking to buy one.. Has anyone been able to work a group buy on the some of the other pins stern has made?

I plan on buying one.

I'm curious if we could do some sort of KLOV group buy too. Because I sure the hell can't afford 4K!

I love the movie and I'm looking really forward to this pin. I wonder how long it will take before we see one in the wild.

Group buy sounds good to me too. What does the cost per unit change to with a group buy?

If anyone wants to do a group buy, i have an idea with a distributor over here - i bought some NIBs from him last year (IM and BDK). Location is Connecticut.

*Maybe* if we can get a good size group together i can approach him for a discount. Who knows how it will pan out - dont get your hopes up because i think this will be Sterns hottest pin in a long time, and he may not be open to discounting - but its worth a try.

If you contact me via PM, i will get a spreadsheet going. If there are enough names on the list (10+?) i will take it to him. I can also start a new thread so we can track progress if there is enough interest. Just let me know if you drop off the list at any time of course (like it you end up buying one elsewhere).

Also, i am still not sure if i will get one - if the discount is deep i most likely will (and if i can sell my SM red).

Isn't IM awesome? I bought one NIB after being unable to locate on HUO. It's got this 'one more game' vibe more than any other game I've ever played.

Couldnt agree with you more - the only game (Arcade or vid) in a LONG time (maybe ever!) that had me keep clicking that start button. Great game, and has to stay - also a family favorite. My in laws love it and would be upset if it left here.

I doubt the savings would be much, but you might save a bit on shipping. if you could ship groups to regions (norcal, socal, NY, seattle, ect) that might be something.

The last new game I bought from Stern was in 2008 and my dealer price was $3650. I need to check what the current price structure is.

Well, if you are close to them in CT, they will ship for really cheap (if that helps). Something like 150.

So far i have one for the list (plus me = 2). Keep em coming. If we can get 10, i think maybe we can get these for 3800-3900 each? I dont know, just taking a guess.

Ok - up to 4 (with 2 being so so, me being one of the so so).

I may just call over today and see if i can get us a scale - between 5 and 10 discount, between 10 and 15, etc.

NO PROMISES - its a longshot we will get anything, but lets see. Keep the interest coming. Even if we can get a good start price with 100 or two knocked off, thats not bad.

Also, i am really on the fence on my part here. I would really need to make a big move (sell a pin) to make this happen, and even then, i (we!) are taking a chance on the game - who knows how it will turn out? I am really hoping they rip the cover off the ball here.

I might be in for a group by also.....but, I have to start selling some games to justify my purchase, and If I still want to be married. Count me in as a maybe for now.

When I found out about TRON ~4 months ago, I told my wife this very well might be my first and only NIB game. She knows I'm a TRON fan and I'm all about experiences. I don't ask for much but when I do it's expensive. I forewarned her that I WILL BE BUYING one if it meets my expectations.

I will NEVER buy a machine without playing it first. I've made the fatal mistake of listening to all the HYPE about "this machine is so fun yadda yadda yadda" and the game totally sucked for me.
Luckily I have a local OP friend that is buying the PRO version so I will gladly spend a weekend playing it (Actually have him bring it to my garage before he routes it).
If I like the pro version I'll surely love the LE.

Yeah this is a tough call. Group buy is a lot of coordinating for what could just be a minimal benefit. And like has been said, we haven't even played the game yet! Hope it doesn't suck.

But if the game rules and we can get a decent discount it seems to make sense.

I can work a deal for you guys maybe. My boss already gave me the go ahead. I dont even need a group. Let me know what deal you think you can get but as of right now I can offer $300 above cost plus shipping at cost or you can set it up yourself. I can deliver curbside throughout the country usually for around $160-$190.

If you guys did get a large number together I could drop it a bit more as well Im sure.

My companies website is gameroomchamp.com

I can probably get a couple people to vouch for me who have met me in person here in St. Louis.

That markup would be the same for the LE as well. Whatever my cost is plus $300 as of now and we can still try to lower this also. If we did a group rate we would need to get the orders in. I could also allow people to probably order the Standard and then have the option to upgrade to the LE and just pay the difference.

Im open to ideas and let me know what you think.
