Picked up this strange looking thing today... (6-1/2 hour round trip completed by 10:15am) :)

When I first saw pictures of it I thought I'd want to try and change it to something more proper but damn... the little guy grows on you. ;)

The cabinet is in poor condition and needs to be smoothed out and repainted. The t-molding and coin door are pretty sad. But the artwork is perfect and I can envision a little blue EL wire going a long way on this... maybe a couple blue LEDs in the handle as well.

Overall I'm happy with this pickup. Only let downs were the power supply died within 15 minutes of getting it home and then after swapping that out the monitor started acting up after an hour or so of play. :(

I like it too. Looks like whoever did it did a good conversion if it wasn't factory.

Did you get this from a KLOVer? Somebody near NYC had one for sale not long ago. I was tempted but the price was killin' me.

It seems like a weird conversion, but I guess if you only have that cabinet... The panel is not TRON, but probably Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, Pac-Man, etc with a repro CPO. The cabinet is not Galaxian if that is an original bezel, since the lengths were different.

I would be interested in seeing more pics of it to see the conversion. Either way, nice pick-up and good luck on getting it running again.

Started to play around with some cold cathodes...

(looks better in person)

The pictures show the blacklight reflecting off the screen but it's not bad at all when you're playing. You can't tell from the pictures, but the bezel and control panel light up very nicely.

I tried the blacklight above the control panel but this looks a bit better to me... although I may add another bulb there too to see how the game looks with two. :)
