Ok, I was switching my monitor in my Tron and trying to hook up the signal plug and discovered an extra 4 wires on this plug. Can someone tell me what all the colored wires are supposed to go to? I know R,G,B then the uninsulated wire is gnd I assume with grey and black left for sync? What is orange, yellow, white, purple, and brown all go to?

thanks!
Mark

I don't remember seeing that on my Tron, but on some games they have two sets of connectors so you can hook it up to different types of monitors.

Look close, do the orange/yellow/white/purple/brown wires loop around and also connect to the other connector? If so you only need to use one set, the other is just to interface with a different plug.

Does anyone know what the correct ones are? I can't get the picture to stabilize now?

schematic shows
J2 9 position
1 red
2 yellow and strand
3 green
5 blue
7 key
6 joined to 4
4 violet and tan
8 blk
9 grey

I don't know why the numbers are wonky -

1, 2, 3, and 5 go to a monitor 6 pos plug as
6, 3, 5, and 4 respectively.

Why can't I clip from the schematic?
anyway, it looks like
red wire is Red signal
green wire ""
blue wire ""
yellow+strand = signal ground

separate 3 position connector

violet+tan = ground
black = v sync
gry = h sync

sync signals must be negative since they're on the 2nd connector.

Ok, so this ended up being that the connector that fits onto the game board was half way coming off each time I would set the group of game boards down into the cabinet. This would have saved me a couple of hours of frustration had I would have known....live and learn I guess, check the easy stuff first. :)
