TRON lightcycle replica - video

Posted a few days ago, I'll say this as a motorcycle rider.

Looks like ass
Handles like ass
Goes like ass

Street legal? I'd be deathly afraid of riding that crappy thing. Unless it was on a completely empty street...with not a cager in sight!

Pretty cool. I sure as hell wouldn't mind owning one, just for shits and giggles. Bet it's uncomfortable as hell to ride.

Think I'd rather have a Batpod. ;)

personally I don't thinks this nor the bat pod from the parker brothers are very good replicas of what they are supposed to be. The bat pod looks more correct because the unique design but they left out a lot of details that were basically cosmetic and would not have been hard to recreate. As for the light cycle, they left out major details like the window or whatever where the turbine/engine shows just to mention a big one. As others mentioned it clearly handles like ass and with that price tag I'd call it a complete fail. Actually the only thing I've heard that's good about it is it's supposed to actually be pretty comfortable believe it or not. I totally like the idea of a replica light cycle but if you're gonna half ass it then why do it? In my mind the only acceptable concessions when building something like this are those that must be there to allow the vehicle to be street legal and those necessary to make the vehicle drive well. Even then every effort should be made to keep every detail as close to the movie vehicle as possible.

Wow, what a giant piece of shit.

Cosmetically the lines are not great. It doesn't flow organically like what its modelled after. Frankly, if this is what is going to give a rep for the chopper shop, then that rep is "i make ass looking stuff". It looks like something a guy put together in his garage. A decent CAD programmer and a fiberglass shop would have done better. And as another poster mentioned, it is only a rough approximation of the movie cycle. Alot of the cosmetic stuff that should be replicable is not on it. I would guess the reason behind that is they pretty much put a stock, unaltered engine/drivetrain under that piece of shit and just dropped a shell over it. Too much work to engineer it to actually be more faithful.

EPIC fail! (Oh, and you clearly couldn't even drive it in an empty parking lot)
