I remember back in the 80's playing a Tron at a local arcade. I cleared the first level of all 4 screens... however on the 2nd round of the light cycles... there were only 2 light cycles instead of 3. I remember this like it was yesterday. I never saw this again. Does anyone have any info on this?

Tron, like most games of the era, has a difficulty setting. I think level 3 is the basic setup. However, if you set it to level 1 every level and every programming lanquage is played through. Mine is set so that the 2nd and 3rd light cycle stages have 3, but if you set the difficulty level lower, it goes something like 1 on the first, 2 on the 2nd, 3 on the third. If your used to playing it on a different level, it really kind of messes with your head when you know the patterns, but it doesn't match what you remember. Hope that helps.

I remember that too. I also remember the first level of Grid Bugs had the timer start at 1000. Later I got a nasty surprise when the timer started at 500 and I died because I wasn't paying attention. Think that was a rom/version change.

Can't wait for it to warm up so I can start fixing up the Tron I picked up in Feb. Bottom 6"-8" are swollen and the sound is either not working or extremely low, but it does work. Debating on attempting to replace the wood or just buy one of DPtwiz's cabs. Guess if I mess up fixing the wood I can always get a new cab. :)

I found the 3rd last weekend. Shopping at a Target in Sioux Falls, SD.
