Tron legacy sucked!

This is the wrong forum, but I've read a lot of reviews that say the same thing. I'm still going to see it tonight, but now I don't want to! :(

i liked it, didn't think it sucked. i mean, it wasn't any best picture nominee, but it felt like a nice continuation of the storyline without a full "reboot." it was pretty, the soundtrack rocked [then again, i am a Daft Punk fan,] and there was plenty of homage paid to the first movie and other pop culture/film references to that era. i though there was a good balance between storyline and action and i wasn't bored at any point. the 3D was used well and rarely had the "gimmick-y" feel that it often does.

of course, seeing it at the fabled Cinerama didn't hurt and the new sound system was pretty awesome.

Tron was ok BUT AUDIO?!? See THIS ONE!

Ok, Was it just the theater I was at had really screwed up settings?
Seemed there were many places the music came up got loud, and the Vocal tracks of the actors was hidden behind the audio and not clear nor higher then the music volume during some parts?!?

Wife wants to take my 7 year old, I say she'll get bored.
Are there enough pretty lights and is it easy enough to understand that a kid under 10 would dig? I know it's a loaded question, just some opinions to help me make up my mind before this evening.

Sucky or not, I probably won't get to go. My wife and I had been planning a "date" for Sunday to see it but our babysitter backed out and it doesn't look like we will be able to get one. Looks like its going to be bowling with the kiddos instead. That sucks because the bowling alley is right next to the movie theatre. So, other people will be watching it and I won't!

Just got back from the movie....yeah it sucked! Any opinions?

I went to the IMAX midnight showing of Tron Legacy...this morning
actually, and I am paying for it at work today, but it was worth it.
I don't see how you could be a fan of the original and not like this
movie. Tons of nods to the original Tron film and it sets it up well
to continue, especially introducing Ed Dillinger's son in the
beginning of the movie in a cameo played by Cillian Murphy. Lots of
classic Tron-esque action and the special effects are top notch. Does
it have it's flaws...sure, what movie doesn't, but they don't outweigh
the good by a long shot. From what I have read, many of the "haters"
of this film have no idea what they are actually even reviewing, in
fact, I would question whether or not they even saw the film. I have
read so many reviews talking about how Flynn has been stuck in the
original Encom grid, that he created, since 1982...I mean are they
even paying attention? Anyway, just thought I would throw this out
there to put some mind's at ease. Go see it, and enjoy it for what it
is...a nostalgic trip back to the 80's with potential to expand on the
Tron universe and hook new generations of going forward.

Taking the family to a friends house on Sunday afternoon after Xmas to see original Tron on Blue Ray, then dinner, then the Imax Tron Legacy...this way, everything will be fresh in our minds (plus my family never saw the original Tron!) How is that for the right order??? Todd :)

Do you mean DVD? Tron on blu-ray isn't out yet, they haven't even announed a release date. Your family will appreciate seeing the original first, with all the nods and references in the new film.

PUPPY RAPIST!!!!

^ I think that would be a much better way to get peoples attention.

Anywho, didn't the orginal Tron get bad reviews too? I just hope they don't get too overboard with the corney "nods" to the original Tron. Too many times when they do a remake or a sequel these days they put in all these contrived "nods" and it really just ruins the movie for me. For example, imagine if in Empire Strikes Back Luke walked by an advertisment for "Power Converters, from Tosche Station." That would have been stupid as hell.

They are not cheesy, don't worry. Some are blatant...Sam's quote when he hacks his way into the Encom building, and some are subtle...look at the name on the building where Sam lives.

This movie definitely didn't suck. I wasn't a huge fan of the original Tron, it was very hard for me to get into, I struggled to watch that whole movie a dozen times but at the very least this one stayed true to the storyline, music was great, effects were great, (though the Jeff Bridges computer generated character needs more eye and facial expressions to look a tad more realistic) but this movie far from sucked. I know it is people's opinion but you kind of have to be LOLOLOLOLOL to think this movie was bad if you were a fan of the first Tron.
