I'd check the connectors out. Maybe try and bend the pins a little so they contact better? You may need to repin one of the edge connectors...

Can you keep us updated on this. I ordered a MCR adapter too. I had a working Tron till it just went out. No LED on the board here too.

Check the interconnect cables. Make sure they are fully seated.

Also try another power supply. If it has a adjustment knob on the power supply make sure its set to 5 volts. Check your voltages at the pcb.

Ok mr.fixit ;-), Measure the voltage at the board. Are you getting any strange sounds or smells? There are tantalum capacitors on these boards that short out sometimes. Ususally they cause a burnt component somewhere, but i think the switchers go into protect mode or something. Look near the connectors and see if there are any burnt or swollen resistor looking things. If you see these, chances are, theres a dead tantalum cap.

From the sounds of it, if he sent it back and it worked for QuarterArcade, I'm guessing it's not interconnect cables.

And the voltages were checked, right?

yes the vooltages are all good i got my 12 v my 4 fives my 4 grounds and my reset pulsing at 5 v

It sounds like exact issue I am having. I wonder if we have inter connect problems. Anyone sell the inter connects?

measuuring 5v at the plug to pcb, no we dont have the sasme issue my cabbles are fine, the board works for sure, i bought it tested from quarterarcade, pluged it in i got scrambled junk, and sent it back he tested it it worked the first try.

That's not the best place to measure it.

On Spy Hunter, the MCR cousin of Tron, the outer board is the SSIO board and there are some caps you can measure the voltage on. Not sure if Tron has an SSIO board or not and am too lazy to look it up.

You can also measure the voltage on the corners of the ROM chips. Measuring it when it goes into the board is interesting but what really matters is the voltage distributed throughout.

Just to confirm, you're still getting garbage on the screen, right? If not, and the screen is blank, you probably have a short somewhere. Possibly check the tantalum (small black plastic) caps, especially on the SCPU board.

If you are getting garbage, did you let it sit for up to an hour to see if it resets and boots up?

ok, heres whats happening. again im going to say this the pcb is not in my possesion its onits way back but i didnt get anything white screen no more garbage, sent it back it works fine , my power supply is a switcher

my reset pulsing at 5 v

Maybe it's just how you worded it......but the reset signal should not be pulsing. It should be a steady 5VDC (approximately).

Also, check the four connectors that plug into the power supply. I've seen the pins inside the housings covered in corrosion. And check the big .156 connector that plugs into the middle board of the three board set. This plug supplies the power to the board set. It's not uncommon for this plug to burn.
