Hi,

My Tron board shows the black and white grid when powered on, but then goes all screwy and flashes red then reboots... I checked for 5v and 12v at the caps on the power supply.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Although you checked the 5v and 12v at the caps you are going to want to try and check to make sure you are getting 5v of power on the PCB's themselves.

After the power leaves the supply and goes through the filter you can loose voltage so by the time it hits the PCB you are underpowered and it can sometimes cause problems like you are experiencing.

Fixed. It only happened when the j4 harness was plugged in. This allowed me to track down the problem. It turned out the "tilt" was grounded out somewhere.

That's the slam switch I mentioned in my post above on your coin door.

Yea it was the slam switch.. but the switch itself was fine.. the wire must have been grounded out somewhere between the switch and the harness but thanks for pointing me towards that

Glad you got it fixed. I spent over an hour troubleshooting this once before I realized my switch was stuck closed. Obviously in home use the switch isn't even necessary... I didn't even bother to adjust mine - instead I just put a small piece of electric tape on it.
