Long time no talk klov...

I picked up my Tron upright about 6 yrs ago and always had this minor glitch...
on level 3 Light Cycles, I follow the pattern and Jam the opposing cycles into one another in the bottom lefthand corner...when all hit, the game glitches/makes a "pop" sound and resets.

I usually re-direct the pattern and the game plays normally.

Just curious as i never addressed...

attached is an image.

thanks(any way to post a movie or link to a movie??)

wow, that's curious. I can't wait to see how this thread turns out.

HOpefully with a nice fix for you.

If you really want to get it dialed in and you don't work on pcbs, cdjump is a tron board master, and reasonably priced.

CDJump is a member on here who specializes on fixing Tron PCBs.

well for me he's fixed:

3-5 tron pcb sets
1 timber
1 wacko
1 solar fox
1 or 2 tapper

I'm probably forgetting something, but needless to say I've never had an issue with any of them since.

oh yeah, discs of tron (environmental pcb set)

have you checked the voltages on the game? Might me a power issue. Could be when the game hits that peak of power at that point, looks like the game resets.. I had a KRULL that did that on the attarct mode. I raised the volts aittle and fixed the problem

I'd be curious as to what software version your game is running. The ROMs on the CPU board should say what they are.

Bet its software related.

Ill check both voltage and software and advise ASAP.

It seems if too much happens at one time(three light cycles crash at once) it fries...almost an overload of sorts

I also have issues at start up
Game glitches and hums w/o starting up
Sometimes I let run for about 10 sec then start back up then kicks in..

Maybe related??

Thx guys

yup definitly power issue.. i bet its to low

hmm sounds like you have linear power.. there should be (2) pots on the board to turn to adjust. as for where to hook the tester up im not sure. I have a switcher in mine so i never tested a tron with linear before... Im sure there is somewhere on the board to test ir..

heres the manual, mabey this can help you

This link on Bob Roberts site shows the power board and the adjustment knobs.

Position 4 that he highlighted is a good place to test the +5v. Black lead on negative side of the capacitor red lead on the positive (DMM set to DC voltage)

So I tested Position 4(below image)and got a reading of +5.35.
-Is that worth of an power adjustment?
-would that cause the "reset glitch" seen in this game?
