Hi - too apart my Tron CP to put on an overlay - (in the restore threads).

Was wondering if i can get some help on these two:

1. The Joystick shaft base mounts over a "Nub" which in turn connects to the actuator. The trouble with mine - i can lift up the joystick from the nub - i seem to be missing the screws that keep the shaft linked to this nub - the manual does not mention this screw at all.

Can anyone advise me on either pics of the joystick shaft connecting, or, what type of screw is supposed to hold the shaft down (Set screw?). Size would be ideal so i can find an exact replacement. For now i just have a skinny screw in there but its prone to popping out.

2. The spinner - my spinner is slow to move / seems to be binding. I have it hooked up like the manual.

How is the play supposed to be in a Tron spinner? Is it supposed to be free and whirling like a Tempest? Or slow to move with effort? I know there is a problem because at a certain turning point it grinds. Maybe i should oil it up OR maybe i have the encoder wheel on too tight? Is your Tron spinner oiled up?

Help is appreciated - thanks!

I can't recall one ever being loose like Tempest. It may spin a bit if you give it a good whirl, but definitely not loose. You don't really want it to be too loose anyway, you want accuracy.

If it's grinding, stop turning it! It may be grinding against something important.

Pull the control panel and under good light turn the control knob and see what is grinding. Maybe the encoder wheel (thin metal) is bent. It may be as simple as flattening out the encoder wheel again.

Yeah the games not in play, its while i am fixing it up anyway, so no over use.

Didnt get around to looking at it yesterday (still just assembling the cab). I did give it a spin though - turns slowy but without resistance to the left (guess thats good) but when spinning to the right its a little tighter and at some point grinds just a little. No visible sticking points - maybe the shaft needs to be looser / moved a little up or down. Will mess around it with it soon.
