Tron Cabinet - powers up, but no picture/sound

ahhhh yeah. It didn't seem to help much. Still bad 5v levels.

I'm pretty certain now it is the corrosion. Having taken the board out and really traced the damage it was quite bad. I don't mind shelling out for the newer better power supply if it is meant to be a long term fix as well.

Perhaps my dream of having the cabinet fixed before the Tron sequel comes out will come true.

Well get crakin at it. Before we know it we'll be in the theatre with our 3d glasses on eating our popcorn.

Alright, just got my power supply in and I have a whole other slew of questions.

The installation instructions seem simple enough. I got them here...

However, step 4 seems a little vague and without the picture it seems pretty difficult to figure out. What are the A.C. L and A.C. N terminals and which wires are they referring to when it comes to cables feeding the monitor?

Also, I discovered one problem that may be the cause of everything ever. One of the cables is disconnected that goes to the big block at the bottom of the cabinet. It is black and yellow cable and attached to it is a green cable that came loose. I don't know where this green wires goes to. Anybody have any ideas? I have a few pictures posted below.

The green wire is your ground wire that clips onto the side of the monitor frame.
AC L (Live?) AC N (Neutral?) would be my guess, but it's best to ask Steven or maybe someone else has installed this kit on their Tron. Mine's all original hardware.

Hmmm, side of the monitor frame? Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for?

Also, who is Steven?

I pulled Tron out to take a couple shots for you that may replace a thousand words. I apologize, I was under the impression you bought this kit from arcadeshop.com, and Steven Gregory is the owner.

Ahhh, I did buy it from him. I will go ahead and ask.

I see. So that wire straight up attaches to just the metal frame. Strange. Oh well, thanks!

Check the Yellow ground to the CP

Had the same problem! If the ground to the CP is not hooked up on your Tron it will not work right! No sound no picture! Check the ground! Try that. It goes right up to the optic board! Move it while the game is on. The CP has 2 latches and opens right up! Good luck

Just installed this power supply kit. The two wires that (should) be coming from the isolation transformer to the monitor power connector need to be tapped. Tap each wire below the monitor power connection point. When you install the taps be sure to compress each tap so it makes contact with the wire supplying the 110V A/C and the wire going to the power supply. In the pictures you posted you tap the white and black wires that terminate in the white connector.

Did this Tron ever get fixed?

I'm going through something that sounds similar with my Tron. Powered it up one night, heard a loud hum for about 5 seconds, then the audio went dead but still had video. Unplugged it and let it sit for a few days then turned it back on. This time the video went dead too. I still have power to the marquee and other lights.
