Hey guys, weird question, but I wasn't around when the Tron movie came out, did anyone ever get any crazy sales out of that deal? Did the buzz of the movie really boost the selling price? Just kind of curious - I see the movie got some really mixed reviews, I haven't even bothered watching it yet. No offense.

if you are asking if the new tron legacy movie boosted the price of the tron arcade game I will say the answer is both yes and no. Mostly sellers asking price went up and from what I can tell for the most part the games were not selling at the higher price. Yes people wanted the game more due to the movie but for the most part not at the inflated asking price sellers wanted. The one valid exception was Chris's immaculately restored tron that sold for a little over 2000 IIRC. Although I would put this games condition as better than new in the box.

I think this will make me an heretic, but.. I think Tron is more style over substance. The cab looks amazing in person, but the actual gameplay is terrible

Yes, the movie drove the prices of the games up. I know of several non restored but playable machines that sold for over $1k. Hell, I sold my dot for $1400, and it wasn't even that nice
