Tron - $200 - MD

Well I'm glad you got it man. I tried to watch the movie and I just can't get into it...its an awesome looking cab but I can't get into the hype. I know its blasphemy around these parts. I also hate Star Wars! There i said it.

You still got a decent deal if you don't mind the drive and all. Thank goodness all 4 of my Trons were within 10-20 minutes of my house. The nicest Tron I bought was fully working with nice sideart at a yard sale and got it for $50 and that's the price she gave me, no haggling was needed! That was a good day.....

Sure, nice rub it in. I can't find one anywhere near $50 no matter what condition its in.

From reading these forums, it seems like roadtrips are part of the experience. I repaired the fluorescent lights tonight and I already have plans to work on the power board (battery issue). This is a pretty cool hobby.

Lucky I didn't see that post sooner..just kidding.. I have no time anymore for the long drives I used to do to find games...

I do have some NOS Tron sideart now to use so I'll stay on lookout for a nice one that is working but needs some restoration...I'm hoping something a little closer to Pittsburgh pops up when I have the space and time...:(

Postings like that are a crapshoot anyway..you never know what kind of seller your dealing with...unless you've purchased from the guy before...

I scored the Quantum on this site a while back from a couple of guys...ended up paying 700.00 for it and it turned out to be complete for the most part and only needed some harness work...and little TLC....the guys even delivered it to me from a pretty good distance..

I've learned to appreciate the nice sellers and just overlook the idiots who don't research what the have before they just list it..

Nice score..post some pictures..I'd like to see the condition..

Quantum is another machine I'd do almost anything for. :D

Here's some pics of the Tron next to my MAME cabinet in the garage. I had to replace a few starters and the marquee bulb - the last two pics show it all lit up.

Some more pics of the control panel. The stick is cracked, but I have a repro from GroovyGameGear that I might replace it with.

The T-molding is textured like on my Jungle King. Does anyone know if that was standard on Tron? Also you can see on the outside back middle corner there is some wood missing. It looks ok on the inside so I think it might be an easy repair with some bondo & paint.

The power switch was sealed up as if it had never been opened. And the battery looks pretty corroded but evidently still saves scores sometimes. I'm either going to replace it with a battery socket or remove it and use an NVRAM chip.

First of all.....get that battery off the power supply!!!!!

Yes, the textured T-molding is what it came with and your next stop would be Phoenix Arcade for some artwork and GGG for a new joystick. :004_ssmile:

hey enjoy i agree 100% about tron and starwars, hence why that return of jedi i had got parted. I know where two more upright star wars machines are locally the vector ones, one is an esb but i have no love for them so they will stay where they are at for now.
