For anyone in San Diego, click the bouncing grid bug at the bottom

From the tokens thread - here is another one:

Check out the Space Paranoids cabinet. Definitely not what it should look like, but it looks like someone actually built one. My guess is this is either a movie prop or a ComicCon booth prop:

From G4's coverage of the Disney panel earlier today - a description of the clip that was shown:

In the clip: We see Sam Flynn enter his father's decrepit arcade. He walks though the dusty room, while period-metal plays. He walks toward the back of the arcade, where a Tron machine is running. Puts a quarter in. It falls out. The cabinet swings off the wall, and Flynn steps behind it, presumably into the game world of Tron.

I'm still trying to figure out how a cabinet "swings off the wall". From the description, the clip sounds like a teaser trailer. Probably isn't even an actual scene in the movie.

here's another explanation of that first clip shown at comic con. sounds pretty cool to me.

First Clip:

We see Flynn's Arcade from the outside. A voice-over says, "I said I would tell you if I heard anything about your father. I just got a call from the arcade. That number's been disconnected for 20 years."

Sam Flynn drives up on his bike and unlocks the front door of the arcade. The Flynn's set is recreated perfectly, we even see the couch in Flynn's apartment upstairs, covered in bed sheets. The arcade is dark, but one machine is obviously on in the back. As Daft Punk plays, Sam walks to the back past the tarped machines. He pulls the tarp off the final game and it is on, clearly labeled "TRON." Sam starts to put a coin in the machine, but drops it. As he goes to pick it up, he notices a scratch in the tile floor. On a hunch, he pulls the TRON cabinet out and discovers a secret passage behind the machine. Sam walks into the passage and the machine ominously slides back into position, closing the door.

Hmm, they changed it already, and posted the "Meetup" on the front page?
Weird, maybe they thought nobody would notice the grid bug?

Anyone going from SD? Probably get some free sh!t... Hell I'd probably go for sh!t's and giggles if I was closer...

soooooooooooooooooooooooo.....

not to sound like a douche, but all of you tron 2.0 fans have seen the original "teaser" from the 2008 comic con, right?

shitty quality, but wow!

yes saw it and thought it looked awesome but now it looks as if they may have made some decisions that would be contrary to the concept hinted at in that teaser. Maybe the scene described earlier in this thread is just a dream sequence. If not the plot may now be headed in a cheesy direction. IMO. I'm a tron fan so I'll see it but where I before had a lot of hope, I now have doubts. Don't like the Tron Legacy title either. I find it too descriptive and the type of generic title that we tend to see these days. the former TR2N title implied everything it needed to without really telling you anything. I liked that much better.
