Checking in again, gang!

I'm ready to shake the collection up a bit, and was hoping many of you awesome KLOVers would help out! Ive been looking at the same collection of games for what seems like a while now, and I'm ready for a change of scenery. I am in no way getting out of the hobby (LOL :D:D:D) but am ready to move out some old games, and bring in some new ones. You guys are a trusted group of collectors, and I respect all of your opinions!

Here is a list of games I have. Which do you think should stay, and which should go? Why?

Marble Madness
Paperboy
Championship Sprint
NBA Jam
Mortal Kombat II
Punch Out
Super Punch Out
Bubbles
Vs Cabinet (w/ Dr Mario, SMB, Balloon Fight, Goonies)
Ms Pac (w/ 60-1)
Warlords cocktail

Any suggestions?

Warmest wishes,

Jow

Follow your trend... sell the "keepers"...

IMHO:

Keep: Paperboy, Punch Out, Super Punch Out, Ms Pac, Warlords, and maybe Marble Madness... the rest should go on the chopping block. Wait. Must keep Balloon fight...

Dump Championship Sprint, NBA Sucks, Mortal Krapbait II, and Bubbles...

Super Punch-Out should go

Why:

  • Too similar to Punch-Out
  • Has good resale value and will bring in money that can go toward a pin
  • Potential of Double-Punch-Out kit will allow you to play this on the PO cab

Marble Madness - great game lots of fun great music
Paperboy - just never got into it
Championship Sprint - better racers out there
NBA Jam - I like the Blitz series 10x's better personally
Mortal Kombat II - always got to have a fighting game in the game room
Punch Out - see below
Super Punch Out - if the board is made to have both on one get rid of one
Bubbles - game is boring IMHO - kids like it tho
Vs Cabinet (w/ Dr Mario, SMB, Balloon Fight, Goonies) - people like those
Ms Pac (w/ 60-1) - keep. Space saving
Warlords cocktail - no opinion never played.

I say it boils down to if this gameroom is for your pleasure or if you're looking to please others? I took the stronger stance on others.

Jow,

Punchout and Super Punchout, Because I am just down the road a bit and I really want them. Just kidding.

Marble Madness, fun game but not a keeper in my book.
Paperboy, I just suck at it.

I say figure out what you want to move in first, and use that to help decide what to get rid of. Want a SFII? Get rid of MK II. Want a Pole Position? Get rid of Championship Sprint.

Another option is to keep the CP and PCB from Paperboy, but sell the cab. You could then switch those parts into your Championship Sprint cab when you wanted to play PB, and not have to really get rid of the game.

It would give you space for one more game without really ditching one.

Keepers list

  1. Paperboy
  2. NBA Jam
  3. Punch Out
  4. Bubbles
  5. Ms Pac (w/ 60-1)
  6. Warlords cocktail
I have seen several threads saying how you love NBA Jam and Paperboy.
I would consider getting a jrok board for the bubbles then it would be a keeper for sure
the ms pac with a multi will cover lots of bases
punch out and warlords are just plain cool

Cull list

  1. Marble Madness (hmm second thought maybe)
  2. Championship Sprint (offroad is better)
  3. Mortal Kombat II
  4. Super Punch Out (too similar to PO)
  5. Vs Cabinet (w/ Dr Mario, SMB, Balloon Fight, Goonies)

I would consider getting a 4 slot neo it would cover the fighting game slot (mk2) and the puzzle game slot (dr mario) and give you some options for cool shmups like blazing star and run and guns like metal slug

Keep:
Ms Pac
Bubbles
Punchout
Warlords
Vs. Cabinet

All the rest, see ya. I never could get into Paperboy. They're all good games, but the change will be good.

Sell me your paperboy :D and maybe others. I'll be in San Jose before the end of the year (probably Christmas time) and hope to bring games back with me. :)

Get rid of them all and start over. Why not....

I have thought about that. I wouldn't ever quit collecting games, I just feel a little bored with the current lineup right now. I figure mixing it up a little bit may make things exciting.

Sell me the Warlords and Taxi in a bulk deal and you'll have plenty of room for new machines...

And since you'll be delivering those to Bremerton throw the paperboy in the back with them and I'll meet you at the Seattle ferry terminal to grab the Paperboy form you befor the ferry leaves to take you to Bremerton :)

I say get rid of NBA Jam and Championship Sprint. Mortal Kombat is definitely a keeper not to mention the most versatile cab on the list. You can throw a 2 board swithcer in there and have MK and a Jamma multi board in there. This way it will still be dedicated but you could switch to a Blue Elf 309 in 1 and instantly have access to 309 old and modern classics.
