I decided to get off my arse and purchase the full polishing kit from Treasure Cove.

Before I get into my experiences, I have to say I'm not sure a person needs all of the 4", 3" and 2" kits. Honestly I would have to say the 3" and 2" kit is about all a person needs and is small enough to get into most areas. While it may take you a litttle longer (using 3" vs 4") you can use the money you "saved" and purchase more compound instead. My .02

Over the holiday weekend I had a chance to try this out. Let me first say I'm a big Novus fan so needless to say I wasn't
expecting much out of this kit. Novus is awesome stuff. My initial scare was using the rough compound that is deemed #3. This
stuff is brutal to the touch! After my first go round with it, it was evident how much dirt this thing had picked up off the PF. I thought
the play field was clean as hell .... man was I wrong! I stepped down to #2 and then #1 finishing off with a nice Mothers pure caranuba coat.

The end result - a glass like appearance as Treasure Cove claims you will have. Not only did I see that all the old wax or Novus left in damaged insert cracks had been completely removed, insert scratching was also
minimized ..... but the bees knees is seeing how many swirl marks/
scratches/wear marks in the clear coat disappeared! The playfield was clean and smooth. Absolutely stunning job!

I had emailed Allen Shoppe stating, "The only complaint I have is that you don't sell a 1" kit to get into them tight areas like round abouts
and such. His advertised 2" kit actually measures 2.5" and doesn;t fit into hallways and round abouts."

Novus will only be used for ramps and playfield plastics now. TC polishing kit has a permanent job. I feel this is simply the easiest, quickest and finest product that a person can invest in.

thanx for posting!

i will try this out, i heard this was good stuff but now you convinced me to try it

did you email me those pics?

I've been tempted to buy a Treasure Cove kit but have held off. I haven't been extremely happy with Novus 2 and 3 on playfields. It would take a ton of work to get them to shine up and it wouldn't look like the "glass" pictures you see. Thanks for the information, it may finally get me off the fence.

To all - thanks I greatly appreciate feedback. Me personally, I don't much care for being a guinea pig and when I see positive posts about companies and their product I feel more comfortable ordering from them. I should make mention that the #3 compound should be used for a deep cleaning once. I could see repeated use breaking through the clear coat. If you have a non clear coated playfield you might consider starting with #2 if it's in fairly "iffy" state. Otherwise I have used it on a non DP'd play field and took the utter most care when doing it. No pressure on the drill is the key no matter what type of playfield you do. Let the bit and the compound do the work for you.

DC2010 - I took pictures last night and will get them emailed to you tonight. Sorry was busy all weekend (and just finished last night) putting up Christmas lights. Expect an email later tonight.

This product has also been reviewed extensively on RGP. Opinions vary but I think it's a great kit if you don't go crazy with the drill and burn the clear coat.

Well, they got a sale from me this morning based on your review. I'd been putting it off. One reason I did it was because of the 4" and 2" polishing and buffing pads. I haven't been able to find anything similar locally and I didn't want to piece together stuff from different vendors on the web. Treasure Cove made it easy to get everything.

As has been said, I intend this to be a one time thing to get a playfield shined up and then just clean and wax afterward.

I bought the kit awhile back and used it on a sinbad. looked awesome when done. however my 2" velcro arbor broke.

Doesnt look like treasure cove sells just the 2" arbor. But I have not emailed them yet to find out. I wanna say I remember someone found out where you could buy all the different pads. anyone know?
