Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to post this.

I remember seeing a thread on here a while ago regarding some games that were very similar to your Trapshoot machine, except for the fact that they came out in the '70s (if I recall correctly).

Definitely a unique concept for an arcade game. Looks like it would be a lot of fun to play with a group of people! Allthough I can imagine it must be a pain to replace those bulbs when they go out.

No problem. Neat that you showed an interest considering it's like a lifetime before you were even born I think. :) It often does become quite the life of the party actually. And so far I haven't had to change any bulbs. I've had it for quite a while but don't turn it on except when there's people here usually so it's pretty low use overall.

Very cool indeed.. what are the production numbers, do you know?

I have no idea how many of these things were made. I wish I knew. CES (the manufacturer of this one) was the last to make them. Apparently they made them in 1996. But I don't know if they made them before or after that.

Gremlin was the original manufacturer in the 70's and used a more rudimentary approach. There's some good info here: http://www.wallgames.com/

It's interesting to read. It would be a fun thing to try to collect if you had the means. Tough to find though as you can see by the "wanted" section.

I just happened to notice mine in the background of the CL photo where a guy was selling something else. Asked him about it and he gave me a great deal.

Cool, I don't think I have seen that website before. Those are definitely the machines I was talking about earlier. They definitely look a lot more simple than your trapshoot machine (of course, they are 20 years older!) Good stuff, good stuff.

there was a guy here locally that had 3 or 4 of the ones from the 70's. he thought they were made of gold the way he had them priced, they didn't work either. i think it was herbertsmart that went to the guys house to look at them too. this was a few years ago.
