Transformers: Optimus Prime sensitivity & movement fix
Hey guys - I dunno about you, but I've been getting a bit frustrated with how sensitive Optimus Prime is...sometimes you feel like you're really hitting him over and over and it's not registering. Here's a super easy fix!!!
Prime hits are registered by his foot lifting off of a roller switch. Luckily, this switch is mounted on a bracket that's attached under the playfield with two nuts. I didn't want to mess around with bending the switch actuator - so - I just removed the switch bracket and added two washers under it, and reattached it. This makes it so Prime doesn't have to move as far back to depress the switch! Now, much weaker shots to Prime give you a hit...it feels way more fair now!
Now - while I was monkeying with this switch situation, I had another idea. There's a coil that fires under Prime's other foot that makes him move back when you hit him, so that it looks like you really bashed him. However, you don't get that much movement out of it. I decided to do the same thing I did go my Green Goblin to make him move more. I took a little adhesive rubber pad, like this...

...and stuck it to Prime's foot where the coil pushes him. This allows the coil to push him more, giving him more of an "OOOMPH!" backwards when you hit him!
So - these two simple fixes make your Prime hits better & more satisfying!
