Hey Guys,
This is a project where I was going to try and reproduce a GlobalVR Arcade Classics cab, for a machine I had that was heavily damaged.
I picked up the cab from another member as non-working but complete. It had a working 25" multi-res monitor in it and the PC was in good shape as well. The wiring was horrible and every corner of the cab was damaged.
I originally was going to knock apart the cab and use it as patterns to make a new one.

Then I found a for sale thread for some Sente reproduction cabs and decided that might be a better (and smaller) option. This cab had a really nice metal parts.
I picked up the new cab and started measuring to see what would be needed to put the VR parts in it. While I was test fitting the monitor I noticed that the bottom was seriously out of square and the sides were not parallel by over 3/8" bottom to top. The top rear panel had some hand hold holes that were a bit ugly along with some bad curves where the T-moulding was installed.

At this point I decided to pull the new cab apart, save what I could and make some new parts. I have never made a cab before and am not a woodworker.
I was able to save both sides, the lower front and the top along with some of the control panel structure. I adapted the monitor structure to fit the 25", made new base, speaker, rear top and rear bottom panels, fixed the T-molding curves and squared everything up.

At this point I remade the wiring harness, had some glass made, made a proto metal plate for the controls to see how they felt and got all of the other parts installed. Once I decide on a final control panel layout I will make nicer panel.
