I bought a new in box pinball machine yesterday. I have never had a new game it took me about 2 years to put the cash together. I could have just bought one but wanted to use my arcade/game money for this. Over the past 2 years here is how I came up with most of the money

Sold my STTNG pinball for $3500 paid $1400 6-7 years earlier
Sold Punchout for $600 paid $150 for it had non working monitors
Sold Fathom Pinball $1700 bought for $1050 some cabinet water damage on cabinet great playfield and glass
Sold Galaga/Ms Pac for $450
Sold Dedicated Space Ace non working complete for $800 (no profit but bought so long ago felt like profit)
Sold Dagon's Lair conversion cabinet $300 had working monitor and right Marquee brackets
Sold Xenon Pinball with extra repro Playfield think $1100 paid $1000 for game and playfield this was my first game about 3 years ago started the account with this (no profit but bought so long ago felt like it)

Paid 8K for the new pinball MMR, I am pleased I used my basic arcade skills and a little luck to be able to do it. Yes I could have just bought one but this way wife is happy. She would not have said no, but since I used my hobby money she was happy also.

I assume other have stories about getting better games by fixing and moving others out. Love to hear a couple.

I haven't spent any personal money in the hobby yet. I actually keep a separate Paypal account with all my arcade and vintage video game money so I always know where I am. Keeps the wife aggro to a minimum... lol.

The warehouse raid profits went a long way toward keeping me positive plus random games I have picked up and sold over the last few years.

That includes the games in my VAPS as well as the new Star Trek and LOTR pins. As long as you are patient and constantly looking for deals, you can easily do the same.
