I know it's a buyers market out there for arcades and pinball machines and trying to get top dollar for your machine is not so easy like it used to be and i think trading your machine for the machine you want would be the best way to go that's the way i see it. Does anyone feel the same?

yes... we just have a hard time finding people out in our neck of the woods to trade with!

I know exactly what you mean around here Pin machines are sought after but can't get price i'm after so i would rather hold on to it and wait til something comes up

I think vids are easier than pins. Pinheads all seem to be after the same few pin titles and are not interested in anything else.

I know, but the question is always thrown in my face by the buyer "why would i buy an arcade machine when i have a Xbox or PS3" I tell them its not the same and they look at me like i'm nuts

My last couple of transactions have been trades, and they have worked out well. I had an Altered Beast and traded it for a Missile Command cabaret, then traded that for a Gyruss. Now I have a definite keeper. I miss the MC, but I didn't play it much.

Most of the local guys are sellers though, so not too much trading opportunity.

I have a Paperboy that doesn't get played much anymore. Maybe I will try to trade that for something one of these days.

Yeah i would rather trade then sell any day. Some people tell me just sell the game and buy the game you want. I would rather get something then search for something and get luckly.

People think these arcade games and Pinball Machines are wasted space.

wasted space is what alot of people say and they ask "why would you put these in your house" I would look at them and say it brings back memories

Yep...or even worse....

people want the games converted to multis! I have some nice cabinets for really low prices on CL but all inquiries really only wanted the crappy one with a 60 in 1.... that sold in no time!
Other replies have asked if I can convert my other cabs to be multigames..

On a similiar side note, I had an old restored mbz 380sl that I have been trying to sell for months - i just changed the add to "trade for similiarly valued item" and got some very cool offers.....I ended up trading for a very nice bmw r100r.

I prefer trades when possible. I'm often short on cash but have tons of jun, er, treasures to trade!

I'd like trades if someone traded their Tron for my Space Invaders cocktail and air hockey table :) But unfortunately people are smart and usually want to make PROFIT or BREAK EVEN... sheesh, kids these days ;)
