Trackball recommendations for 60-in-1 / Centipede cab

My Centipede board is dead. I'd like to play multiple trackball games. So I've ordered a 60-1 to throw in there. But I'm told it won't work with the original trackball.

Anyone done this who has a recommendation on a good trackball and where to order the thing? I'd like to keep the original feel of the game so I'm not looking for anything that lights up, makes weird noises or give massages or anything like that.

Thanks.

Yeah, that should work, and it will mount just fine. Arcadeshop sells some for about $65 that will work also.

Otherwise, you can buy the Atari/Happ red optic boards from Arcadeshop for $19/ea. Get two for $38 and just swap them into your current trackball and it will then work with the 60-in-1.

I remember a thread a while back about adding a resistor or something to the original Centipede optic boards that would cause them to work with the 60-in-1, but I've been having a hard time finding the thread again...

If YOU can't find a thread then I must assume that it does not actually exist. Thanks for the good info guys.

Mod, you are amazing. Thank you sir. It looks like the thread was abandoned but I sent him a PM. Perhaps he (or someone else) can explain what was done and how to do it. Thank you once again.

Tried to rep you but, apparently, I've given you all I can for a bit.
