Probably an old topic, but my trackball (ultracade) has no vertical, only horizontal movement. I unplugged it/re-plugged, and then it did not work at all until I restarted the machine.

Replacement? rebuild? It has a USB plug for power/to connect to the computer.

Please help me troubleshoot.

Thanks,

Yeah, you've got two sets of optics encoders on that trackball, so you could swap them and see if the problem migrates. That would tell you that you have something wrong with one of your optics.

I think I got it.

Thank you for all the replies. I think I got it.

With a standard hook-up trackball, you can switch the cards to see if you can isolate the problem then clean, replace cards as needed.

I, however have the Suzo-Happ Trackball with the USB/PS2 hook up, which takes a different card on one side (where the TB hooks into the power etc..) which is on the vertical axis as it happens, so in talking with the techs at Happ, I just ordered a new card to save the hassle.
part number 55-0301-00. Easy peasy.

Thanks again and I hope this helps somebody who has the same issue in the future.
