Track & Field Marathon June 1st into the 2nd and maybe the 3rd!

So I've talked the talk about being able to stay awake for long periods of time and I've always wanted to marathon a game. Sooo, since I have my 41st B-day coming up and I'm not getting any younger I decided to get it done.

Starting in the a.m. on June 1st after my morning dump(yeah, I said it) I'll be going for 30+million Track & Field. If you are in the area(SoCal, Los Angeles) and would like to stop by, dont be shy. My doors will be open to all comers. Come alone, bring a friend, bring some beers or something to cook on my grill. Stay the night if you like. Eating and drinking IS allowed in my gameroom. My other games will be on and I have aout 1000 games to choose from in my console corner. Come 1 day or both days. There is plenty of room to sit and hang out.

Looking forward to meeting some new peeps.

This will be streamed on Justin.tv. One cam on the game screen and one showing the room. But I am encouraging locals to stop by. I need the excitement of having some people over.

Wow, you are insanely good at Track & Field. I assume that's you with the world record for one round. Are you going for the marathon record? There are no entries at Twin Galaxies for that.

My God, how do you run so fast?

I can't do anything even remotely close to that. I'm playing on a MAME system though with microswitch buttons. Is that the culprit?

Very impressive!

I didn't know you could increase the distance of the javelin throw in mid-air...

I want to thank everyone that came by to watch the stream. It totally helped me knowing you were all there the entire time.

And thanks to those that updated some of the forums on what was going on.

One highlight for me was when there were 20+ viewers and someone wanted to se me hit 2.50 on the highjump. At this point of the game I was skipping the event all together to speed things up. The times I did play it I only played to qualify and quickly ended it to keep the scoring pace up. But I gave in and did it for the viewers and in one try I hit the 2.50. Not something that happens all to often but in the excitement it felt almost easy.

So thanks again to the viewers and a very special thanks to those that came over to watch in person.

and a couple of my close friends, Brian and Keith, that tried to have an Xbox 360 marathon by my side. They were great company.

Last but not least, my wonderful wife, Sylvia!

So how long did you go? I peeked in a few times last night and this morning to see how things were going, but noticed the stream was down. Awesome job man, you are a true T&F master!

I went on for 31 hours and 45 minutes. Final score was 29,996,880.

Does something bad happen at 30 mil? Just curious as to why you wouldn't stop just AFTER 30 mil rather than just before?

The score rolls every 10 mil so I wanted it to be on top of my scoreboard rather than have it disappear on the bottom.

Makes sense. :)

Damn impressive job there, Hector.

Well done my man. I kept checking in to see where you were at, and loved seeing the "hour square" and "million square" change. Impressive, for sure.

excellent!
That video you posted a long time ago showing the button technique is crazy, dude.
Congrats.
