I picked this up tonight from craigslist. It needs a full restoration on most of the art and visual stuff. The monitor works but needs to be adjusted, the marquee is present but the light doesn't turn on, the control panel works but needs a full overhaul, the sideart is present but severely faded and in some spots missing a piece. All in all its complete and a good find, I have always wanted since getting into this hobby so a project on this is welcomed. Best thing is I found it locally and avoided the shipping troubles. Anyways look for a detailed head to toe restoration on this one. I'm going to need some help on a few things here and there so feel free to point out things I might need to know before I get there.
Chris

Is there a cardboard bezel in there? If so, it looks like its in pretty good shape.

How about the high score save? Any plans to replace the battery on the PCB?

Pretty cool pickup man, congrats! I have one sitting in my garage now waiting for me to work on. :)

im sure when your are done with it it will be mint to match the blue scrape a peice the size of a quarter ant take it to lowes and they can match it up perfect

Nice! I'm trying to wrap up my restoration for my T&F as well.

Side art and CPO here: http://www.phoenixarcade.com/art.htm

Marquees are pretty tough to find, I finally tracked down a NOS one so I have a couple if you need one

I also have a NOS CPO, I was going to use it, but my CP was already done

The only thing I need is a paper bezel, if you want a new one and wouldn't mind shipping yours I could make a few and send you one back.

I've made new bezels for my DOT, Exidy shooters, and a few others.

Good luck with your project.

Dan

I need a bezel too. Mine is too trashed to even make an attempt at recreating.

This is what we call a "solid base for a restoration". A little elbow grease and you'll be in excellent shape.

Pulled the sideart off today, what a PITA, pulled the cpo off another PITA, removed the monitor and associated parts. I'm Going to shoot the cabinet this weekend with blue and white. I found this as a color guide:

http://www.gamestencils.com/index.php?sc_page=41

I hope it's right, I'm gonna buy a sample to make sure. As for the white on the sides any ideas on the code ?
So far no major issues that I can't fix, I still cannot believe how expensive the CPO and sideart where for this cabinet. Ordered all new buttons and t-molding as well today. I'm hoping to have this in the game-room by next weekend if all goes well.

Wow that's alot of people waiting, maybe I can have them made here and help everyone out. I'll look into it today.

Paint Codes don't match need help

So i went to Lowes on the way home today and grabbed a paint sample of the one I found here:
http://www.gamestencils.com/index.php?sc_page=41

See the pictures, the color is a bit too light IMO but looks halfway decent. Let me know what you guys think and if anyone has anything different paint code wise so I can match this up better please post it here.
Thanks
Chris

The following statement is from a member here for me 3 or 4 years ago when I did my track and field restore. The color was perfect in my opinion.
.
.
.
.
.
Colors for T&F:

Blue: American Tradition Interior Semi-Gloss Enamel (from Lowe's). Codes: 101-2.125 102-26.25 115-3.625 113-3.75 (for a quart)

I went over this color a good bit with Brian Jones (prok) during my restore. Long story short, it looks a little different than some pics of other restores but that is due to the lighting of the pics. It also appears a bit darker than the original, but that is due to the fading the original cabs always suffered. I always trust Brian judgement and expertise in restoration

For the white (doesn't matter too much). Dunn-Edwards W 901V L Tintable White Permasheen Acrylic Semi-Gloss Paint (from Dunn-Edwards).

all of that was from a member here not me. thought I'd pass it along.
again it came out awesome.
Dylan

yea which color blue did you use it seems there's 2 different ones

1: "This match came from a cab sample at my local lowes. The tint colors are universal and could be used anywhere.
Lowes Enterprise Base 4 semi gloss oil.
101-8.5 102-2Y9
113-15 115-14.5 "

2:"Second option from JohnVV
Blue: American Tradition Interior Semi-Gloss Enamel (from Lowe's).

Codes: 101-2.125 102-26.25 115-3.625 113-3.75 (for a quart)"

or do those pics show both colors?

I Tried #1, looks off but not too terrible. I want it to be perfectly matched. TronGuy thanks for posting, I'm going to grab a sample this weekend and see how it looks.

Progress Thus Far

Here is what I've done so far:
Removed hacked up sideart
repainted the whole cabinet
repainted coin doors
fixed marquee light
3 new locks
Cleaned the whole inside from 30 yrs of dust and spiderwebs
Fixed the volume pot
fixed the grounding wires that where shorting the game
installed phoenix arcade CPO. what a beautiful piece it is
Installed 10 new buttons
Filled in the chunk of missing wood on the rear top right side.

Waiting for:
new bezel
new tinted plexiglass
Offset T-molding
New Sideart ( Gonna wait till I have excess $$ on this one since it's $ 175.00)

I nicked the inside blue by the monitor installing the cpo, so I will need to touch that up, the paint is a dead match.
