I have a Track & Field that I was contemplating repainting and putting a new CPO and t-molding on. I don't have much into the game and it works perfectly. Somewhere down the line the whole cabinet was repainted gloss black, but it was done quite poorly. Where do I start? How do I know what colors are correct for the white, black and blue? Should I use Latex or Enamel paint? I don't have access to a good sprayer so I prefer to roll, will this work? A couple of corners need work, is bondo the best stuff to use for this? I am not going to make this a museum piece, but I just want it to be presentable.

Thanks

Am I not mistaken? If you ordered the side art for both sides it covers the entire side of both ends of the cab.

The artwork doesn't cover the entire side. It's a decal - peel the vinyl and apply it to the cab.

Viper there's tons of info about spraying vs rolling, what type of bondo to use, who likes latex and who likes oil so on and so forth. You need to simply use the search function of this site. Another good place is to look in the restoration threads.

Since it was painted black you may get lucky and simply use Citris strip to uncover the bottom layer and it may be recoverable. Either way you need to do this no matter what the outcome.

I did a whole cabinet two years ago.

The paint colors are on-line and they are a dead match. Repro CPO is nice and Bob Roberts sells a new wiring harness and switches for the game.

Another option is to forget about the resto and put the money towards a Hypersports board. Just my opinion, the but original game gets a bit boring.

The same can be said for Hypersports. I'm actually going to buy a Track and Field pcb, konaki to jamma adapters and 2 board JAMMA switcher.
They both have their pros and cons and thus why a person needs both IMHO.

I was going to do the same thing. Unfortunately no one makes a dedicated konami switcher, and I think a GOOD jamma switcher is a bit more than I want to pay for. So Im just getting another T&F cab and putting my Hypersports in there. They should look good together! :D
