I am looking at buying a track and field off of craigslist. Price is 175 but I think there is something wrong with the PCB according to the picture. They say it works fine. Do the world records look corrupted to anyone else?

yes.

I have had those issues when the voltages weren't correct.

I have also had those issues when the pcb had issues.

price seems right

i have to check my t&f
this is the attract screen

yes they look wrong

i would still get it if the side art and cp look great and has the proper coin door too.

biggest expense on them are the side art/cpo/coin door

you will eventually find a good pcb for $30 on ebay

if you read the manual it says the record table can get corrupted. use the dips to reset the the HS table and it will be fine.

That worked for me, but since the battery ended up being dead, as soon as the machine powered off and back on, the same issue occurred. I guess you could reset the dips each time.

I saw that problem many times on Track & Field machines. The other guys in here are right... setting the DIP switch to initialize the high scores will clear out that corrupted data, unless the battery is going dead.

Whatever that issue was, they seemed to have corrected it with Hyper Sports because I dont remember ever seeing that happen on a Hyper Sports machine back in the day.

However, the same issue arose again when they released Super Basketball in 1984, after Hyper Sports. I don't think I ever saw a Super Basketball that didn't have corrupted data in the Top 5 scores table.... not like it mattered much because they only showed the Top 5 scores table in Super Basketball for like 3 seconds before it when on to the rest of the attract mode.

I have seen it on Hyper Sports as well. Just replace the battery and reinitialize the high score with the dip switch like the manual says then it will be fine.

I wouldn't let that stop you from buying it. The price is right if that's the only problem.
