It seems like there is another variable that controls the distance of the jump on long jump besides speed, angle, and proximity to the white line. I have jumped 9.63 meters with a speed of 1319 and a 45 degree angle perfectly centered on the line. On the next jump, I had a speed of 1338 and the other was the same, but I only jumped 9.36 meters. I noticed this on shot put also. My speed is a perfect 1500, and at 45 degrees, my throws range from 91 to 99.48 meters.

Someone like FlyHec can speak to this much better than I as I am around an 85k player but I believe future throws/jumps, etc are dependant upon previous. ie) Long jumps, javelin throws, etc, tend to progress in distance if you execute from the same spot/speed on the first and the subsequent next attempts.

Also I think there is a ROM difference that accounts for the max throwing distance in the hammer toss.

I don't think 45° is the optimum angle for long jump & javelin. Try 42° maybe?

Also, rumor had it that pressing buttons after the jump/throw improved the result...

42* is definitely the best for long jump, and your 3rd jump is your only option as far as getting 9.72 or something like that. I have achieved that number with under 1300 speed. You have to hit a perfect spot for jumping 3 consecutive times with 42* all 3 times.

Javelin is anywhere from 41 to 47* from my experience. Maximum speed is a plus on this event obviously, where it doesn't seem to matter on the long jump.

I always find my longest throws to be (hammer) when I release the hammer early vs late in the throwing zone.

42* is what you want for the LJ. One of the things that makes one jump farther than the previous one with the same speed and angle is the bonus factor from the previous jump. If you jumped 9.xx then .09 will be added to your next jump. The amount of meters jumped = cm added to next jump. So if you only jumped 8.xx then .08 will be added.

So if 9.72 if the goal, then you just need to have a 9.xx jump followed by a perfect jump on the line with a 42*. 48* also gets max results but 47* and 49* are bad news so 42* is what you want to shoot for since 41* and 43* arent as bad as 47* and 49*.

45* is the perfect angle on Hammer. But depending on the rom set you're playing on you either want top line or bottom line on the throw. So that's either down the bottom foul line or up the top one. You also need to have a fair throw of any distance right before to get in the 99+ range. 98.50 is the best first throw so the 99+ has to be after any fair throw. Has to be 45* and has to be bottom line on my machine.
