I've seen several people that have their metal parts powder coated and or chromed. I really like some of them I've seen done as it really makes the machine their own and different from the normal. I know alot of people like them stock, but I think I'm going to do my RFM soon.

I did a crude color job in paint just to get an idea of what it would look like. I figured red or an alien looking green would be cool. I am leaning toward the green. I'll get the bright green t-molding for the backbox and match it. I'm not sure if I'll do the upper translite bracket or the speaker grille. - Barry

My Jurassic Park parts are at the powder coating place now except the side rails which I ruined and a new set is on the way. I've opted for yellow siderails, hinges, lockdown bar and legs. I'm going to leave the coin door and gun black. He's going to do 1 hinge to see if I like the color match and go from there...... Crude paint colors. - Barry

I actually did yellow for the lock down bar, rails and head brackets on JP.
Did the legs in red.

Looked BEAUTIFUL.

Cleaned, shopped and PC'd the parts, it sold in less than a week...

They all look pretty gaudy IMO... what about something not as loud, like a hammertone texture or metallic?

RFM really deserves top notch treatment, You should look into Prismatic (similar to Anodizing but for Stainless Steel)

Go red. the green is just not right in my opinion.

The red looks ok, but I would just do the legs, rails and lockdown. Leave the coin door black

+1.

I'm taking my IM armor to a powdercoater next week to have the deep metallic red paint job done on them. Coin door will stay black, I just think it looks better to keep that stock.

I've been studying that Jurassic Park mock-up with the red legs/rails/lockbar, and I think I like it...well, some of it.

I feel that the red rails, hinges and lockbar are a bit too loud to be around the playfield, and think that the original black is the best choice there. But red legs would look pretty damn good, especially against all that black on the cabinet's sides. And they would also accent extremely nicely off of the red colors in the cabinet art. It seems like a perfect mix of red and black in that area, and even though I'm a pretty strong purist when it comes to keeping pins as they were designed, I believe it would really be a cosmetic upgrade.

So, since I was fixing to paint the less-than-stellar legs on my JP anyways, I've decided to do them in red.

I'll post a pic or two when I'm done.

I love the red legs on the JP. I think the red rails would have looked good too! Red would look great on the RFM too. The problem with photoshopping a test is that you can never get a really good feel for the color.

I'm about to do my JP in textured black. I might reconsider doing red based on how nice that looks. Just can't decide.

I did my WCS in purple and I'm really happy with it. Looks even better in "real life" This color doesn't photo well.

I had the JP done in yellow - legs, hinges, siderails and lockdown bar. The yellow doesn't match the yellow on the cab, it's a bit brighter. I like it though. I'll get pics soon as well as get this thing back together and playable. - Barry

Here's a pic of the JP in yellow. I think I'll do my RFM red eventually except the coin door. I also am considering doing my RCT in blue. - Barry
