Those new style grips were not used on SW type yokes. Only Road Riot type yokes had them and those are a totally different design.
Tough choice in SW yokes

Stun Runner used them and I believe the only difference is how the grips are mounted to the shaft. Star wars grips mount to the shaft directly and the newer grips mount to an adapter which mounts to the shaft.
Hydra used them as well, but that yoke has different internals. The dimensions I believe are the same, but Atari got rid of the gears used internally which led to a few changes internal to the yoke.
