I'm gonna replace my star wars yoke. Got offers of a nos yoke and a RAM repro that specs are alike and some are higher than original quality. Nos is more money but has a little back story. What would you do?

the ram one is pretty good... as long as your getting it from somewhere else except directly from ram..

of course "real steel" is always the best choice if you can afford it..

Oh my bad I thought you knew the RAM repro was real steel and the Atari og was a cheaper alloy, never mind. The nos has the nos overlay installed to its very nice but about 15% more expensive than repro

just rebuild your current one

The RAM yoke is a solid product and more durable than the original IMHO. Only go NOS if it really matters to you.

Something that is not mentioned here is that the RAM handles are NOT exact to the original production units. They were made from a prototype, and are larger and a different shape.

Something you would never notice unless you'd played hundreds of hours on an original yoke.

RAM's repro is top notch. Too bad there's a black cloud following the company around these days. (please no drama)

Sorry to threadjack, but I have a set of the black powdercoated RAM handles I'd sell if anyone is wanting a pair. I think I'll end up refinishing my original ones.

I'm sure the handles will be fine seeing as I born in 83. I've played zero hours. So I will not notice the difference. But I had never heard this fact before. And bump for this guys handles. Hi jack away were all friends here

Another interesting fact, in later games Atari changed the yoke handles to these:

It's a much more comfortable design.
