This year I have decided to get online with TT after having a few locations asking me for them which would be good spots......knowing nothing about TT units I would like if some of the ops can chime in and enlighten me...I know these boxes come in many flavors ..... ovation , maestro ect... gen 1,2,3.... mjs. jcb pcs... with amps without... I am trying to keep my cost to a min here till I make some $$$ with them to upgrade but have no idea where to start and after choosing a box I will need speakers... how many and what kind ???? units going into the seating area of an indoor soccer complex

thanks

hi Mike11
as a touch tunes route operator and owner of 10 gen3 converisons.,
there is pit falls to these (slim) but they are there none the less
the most important is the up-front cost verus the revenue they will make.
To this i mean because it costs (canadian >me) about $67.00 usd prmth
to use there service.
cost of wireless
cost of server
cost of song split
i need to pick the venue very careful
ie: amount of people traffic >expected to pay to play<
dose the venue have its own house system ? can i simply tie into it ?
do i have to provide speakers ? if so how many and where ? >cost of speakers-wire-labour to install< all come into the :eek:ver-all operating costs: (this btw is up-front capatial expense)
Then i have the real kick in the nads
u must honour the :base $67.00 usd: or they blacklist your juke box (shut it off for u)
so i go into a 50/50 bar? i may request that they rent there juke box from me
thus cutting some of my costs down
i could go deeper but i will let u ask q's first

ed

oh heck yes..and there very very prompt..
now ami is a tad better with there live stuff
but ami's service is slow as a rule where touch tunes is top knoch
the down side to touch tunes is we as canadians now have to buy replacements parts from suzzo/happ,where before we would get it right from touch tunes

I'm only running the Virtuo's. I cannot say enough good things about them. However, they are expensive. They are not for the B & C locations. I only put them in "A" locations. ROI is around 18 months or less. You can buy used from Ebay when you can find them and cut your cost by a third.
Just my 2 cents.

Ken............I don't think there are any 70 volt taps. There are 3 zones available to hook speakers to on the amp. There are also several add on boxes to bring audio in or to send the audio signal outside to remote amps.
I have been using Peavey PR-10's and PR-12 speakers. They sound great.

If you are interested in getting a few used TT jukes, I can put you in touch with a op friend of mine who has a few he wants to move out.
I don't know the details of them off the top, but can pursue it if you are interested... pm me :)

cheers
/Tim

all touchtunes are either 3 or 4 channel output
no 70 volt
the great thing about these units is there flex
u can up-link through a up-link box
or u can down load from them d-link box
1=red box (up-load) >>in to jukebox
1=blue box (download) >>output from jukebox
these are blanced to unblanced
they did for runs of 100'
2 of mine i have the house feed there tuner into my box (or tv's)
and my jukebox :aux: chanel input takes care of it
reason for this is the box is never turned off (increse in revenue)
plus if u want u can wire a mike in through there mike converter box
there so flex i have not yet met a bar i could not make it work in

My old boss wouldn't buy Touchtunes machines because there was no 70 volt output and no wattage taps. We had many locations with 70 volt ceiling speakers tied to the jukebox. So we absolutely had to have 70 volt capability and flexibility. Some locations we had still were run with Rowe 45 rpm vinyl jukeboxes. One location we had still had a Seeburg LPC1 running a dozen wallboxes until 2005.

We had Rowe CD100 machines there so we could run the 70 volt speakers and be able to adjust the jukebox's own internal speaker wattage to even out the sound levels throughout the location. All volume was controlled with the regular Rowe stereo remote (hardwired) control. At no time was the jukebox ever patched into the location's own sound systems. The jukebox operated as a stand alone unit.

well personaly i have never tried to tie in a 70volt feed
but i am sure it can be done
as all mine are gen 3 converts from nsm (which did have a 70volt trans) on its output
which was 8 ohm at the amp
i am sure a touchtunes could handle it ?
but i would want to load chk it first

ed

up date to 70 volt
touch tunes did have a transformer
pricey 232.00 usd
part # 700-301-001
crown also made 1
t-17v0
i chked and lord and behold the nsm 70 volt trans will work with the gen3 amps
so to answer your question ken
yes

ed

i took the time to look up that series of jukebox
and yes the transformer i speced will work for going from 4-8 ohm out to 70v
the transformer is never sent with the unit. it is some thing u buy afterwards
