Anyone ever do this? Will windows xp recognize the older touchscreen monitor?

Admins- was not sure what catagory to put this in. Feel free to move if necessary.

I converted a Merit Megatouch upright to a nice MP3 jukebox.

The 7000 may be a little small to mount a computer in.

For mine, I used a small P3 system and a solid state hard drive. The 3M touchscreen controller connected to the serial port. DWJukebox software running under Windows XP controlled the touchscreen nicely.

I used a small powered sub/speaker combo from Creative Labs. The sub was mounted using 2 screws through the side of the cab and the side of the sub just on top of the coinbox frame. The speakers wouldn't fit but the cab had spots for 2 4" speakers so I wired two up there and used the CL amp to run them.

DWJukebox has a feature where you can use a key to shut down the whole system - XP and all. I tore apart a PS2 keyboard and wired the controller board to a simple arcade button mounted on top of the cab next to the power switch. It was wired to the "Esc" key on the keyboard controller.

Turn on the system, it boots XP and DWJukebox. DWJ has a screen saver mode too and looks like an old time jukebox on the screen. Press the arcade button on top of the cab to shut down the computer and when it powers off turn off power to the cab to turn the monitor and amp off.

I chisled out one of the holes in the front of the cab where a lock bar used to be and put USB ports in it. This way I can connect a USB keyboard and memory stick to load more music.
