I few years ago, someone sent KLOV a picture of a burning videogame (Defender or ?). He, she, or they stuck the otherwise fine looking machine in a grassy field, poured some fuel on it, and lit it ablaze... I don't find the photo at the moment, but the image sits in my mind to this day. The torture of an innocent machine. It wasn't pretty.
Is anyone familiar with the photo / story? If so, does anyone know who took the photo or did that to the machine?
Is this an under reported crime? Are their other photos of burning coin-op videogames floating around? I thought this was a problem of times passed, even in the south. I actually have dozens of photos of burning machines (mostly slots) from the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s (intentional burns, and some sledgehammering and some ocean dumps), but the one I'm talking about is the only one I remember seeing taken in modern times (I've seen a few photos of people dismantling obviously worthless wrecks, but that doesn't count).
