we had a really big scare last night--huge Tornado touched down in my area and has just devasted many areas--we were so lucky--the big one that they are thinking was an F4 or F5 was only a few miles away--many deaths and still many people missing--please keep Ringgold GA and the surrounding area in your prayers--

glad to hear you're ok. we had one touch down about 5 blocks from my house back in june of '09. it can be pretty freaky, when all the wind and hail and everything comes, and you just know what's behind it.

We are getting remanants of your storm right now. Twister warnings, wind and rain all over the place. Nasty stuff.

I'm glad it missed you. The games are safe, right? ;) My prayers go out to those who lost loved ones and whose lives have been impacted.

I live in Madison AL. Huge mess. Might not have power for a week. Luckily, we had no damage, but there are houses leveled and utility poles snapped off at the ground. It's crazy.. Fortunately, we have somewhere to stay.

Weather is super crazy this time around.... Glad to hear it missed you in Ringgold. I know lives have been lost which is just horrible news, but I am curious how many arcade games have been sacrificed to the twister gods?!

I know callous but if cars can get tossed around, how many quantums in the already low numbers may have succumb to the weather?

they are showing your tornado probs on bbc news since it all started.sad to hear about the loss of life, apparently its the worst you ever had.

couldnt help but wander how many arcade cabs are getting destroyed by it all.

by the way i actualy come from a country that has the most tornados daily for its size/area in the world, united kingdom.i think we get loads of tornados every day they just aint big black swirly things that destroy everything, just mild ones.
:)

Man this is crazy. I'm starting to get concerned that I'll wake up one morning and hear that it has been raining frogs.

I hope all you southern folks are ok. I've got a sister and a cousin in that area, but they were fortunate enough to have been unaffected.

I've heard reports that there are cell towers that just disappeared. The TVA main power grid is a mess, with dozens of main transmission lines severed. The closest nuclear power plant has shut down, as there's no where to send electricity. They're saying it's by far the worst weather event in the history of AL.

This is why you keep your games in the basement.

... and live on high ground.

Growing up and currently living in Kansas I know tornadoes like common occurances of rain, snow, and drought. My town has been hit before, and even on my birthday 2 years ago, one was 5 miles from where I was having my arcade party. after the tornado left, we drank, played poker & lots of arcades, and ate way too much BBQ! I don't know how people could live with earthquakes as much as they can't figure out how I can live landlocked in tornado alley. Bottom line, it's home... (unless it takes my house, then I might just move :) )

"Tornadoes Suck"

Yes,....Yes they do. It has wrecked my community. Luckily, it missed my house. It took or damaged many homes of relatives, but they all made it. So far, 6 or 7 in the community weren't so lucky. I have a healthy sun burn from working outside from 8-5 helping my dad get the road cleared at my grandmas and getting cattle fenced back in. As far as games go, I had a really nice firefox cab in a barn that was taken, but I found it and it may be savable. And I had a Dynamo HS-5 at a cousin's garage. Damn those are tough cabs. Currently its holding up one of his walls in his garage. I am pretty sure it survived the ordeal. I hope to get it when he starts to remove the rubble. I did get the PCB pulled so I can put it in another cab later if I can't save it. I have invented a new verb after all this. Tornadoed....as in you have just been tornadoed. Until you have seen it in person, you just don't have a respect for what that means. After seeing it in person, I can honestly say that Twister is a totally unrealistic movie. Not enough CGI power available to accurately show all the debris. The scenes are just too clean. He had like 100 round bales each weighing like 500+ pounds each. They were setting near our pound that it set in some woods. Now, every tree is snapped off 15 feet up and splintered and the hay bales look like a tsunami washed in and just coated the bases of trees. It looks like a scene you would expect to see in the everglades after a hurricane. Anyways, we'll probably be out there tomorrow doing the same and probably again Saturday....I hope the other members faired well.

I was in Huntsville on travel when it wall went down. Not fun. Made it up to Nashville yesterday which took literally all day. What a big, scary mess.

I got hit pretty hard, but luckily no tornados near my house. Im glad your alright GaGamer, I was actually worried when I heard ringgold got hit!

We had tornado warnings and 100km/h winds here yesterday, which is unusual for this area. When I came home from work, my tent garage was sitting in the neighbor's yard, totally trashed. :( Some of the roofing shingles from the house across the road are in my driveway this morning. Lots of signs, trees, etc. have fallen, but thankfully there were no actual tornadoes and no major damage like down south.

Hey Scott, When I heard Ringgold was hit, I thought of you. I am glad to hear you made it through a terrible night. Being in Raleigh, NC and going through what we did a couple of weeks ago, I can definitely relate (though none of the 25 tornadoes here in my area were rated higher then F3).
