I tore apart my first Arcade tonight. Wasn't as bad as I thought. I was a little intimidated with discharging the Monitor. After 5 or 10 minutes of staring at the plunger thinking this could be the end, I finally found the guts to stick the screw driver underneath the cap to discharge the Monitor. After that, everything else was a breeze. Checked Voltages, fuses, diodes and caps. for some reason I have no monitor at all, you can still play it and everything works, but monitor is black. Dropping it off tomorrow, to be capped, and checked out.

hopefully your monitor guy has a tube tester to color balence your tube.

Not necessarily the flyback. Very common failure, but there are other possibilities as well. Sucks though, that the replacement flybacks are nowhere near as good, and cost twice as much.

I have heard that the voltage regulator and HOT can be troublesome as well. Some time ago, I had two 19" K7000's. One had a bad regulator and the other had a bad HOT. I transplanted the HOT from the one with the bad regulator and made one monitor from two. Worked like a champ.

Well, bad news. Tube was shot! Hooked up the Tube Rejuvanator, only to find it was toast.
So 300.00 later Im up and running. Luckily he had one in the shop that would work.
Just put it all back together. Only thing I notice is a green color smear at the bottom of the screen. What causes that? Moving? Is it a degaussing issue?
