Whatever you want to call it or use it for. Figured I offer some of the things I've been making for friends and family for a little while to see if there is any interest here. I've made a few of these in the last day or two to show what can be done. Essentially, I can take almost ANY digital picture and make one of these. I've make them with my cnc router and they've been used from anything from putting in the kitchen window to gifts for wedding anniversary.

I will offer these with 3 different options. I will offer just the picture carved for $35 shipped (additional up to total of 4 in a small priority box. $30 for each #2,3,and 4). I will offer the picture carved with a flat base for $40 shipped up to 2 with bases in same box. I will offer in a frame with choice of color of frame (stained or painted) and choice of color of backlight (currently white, blue, red, green, or yellow) for $60 shipped. The size of the picture carved w/o a frame is 5x7.

PM me with any questions or to talk about what you want. Linked to more pictures in my flickr photosets. Sky is the limit with these lithophanes. Take a screen shot of your game, your arcade, landscapes, kids, pets, etc...

Those are pretty cool. I think your problem with sales is you are not capturing the imagination of the KLOV collector community. Simple stuff like company logos (Atari, Williams, Cinematronics) seem to sell better here than side art reproductions or advertising art. Also, you are competing with very similar artwork that has been available here in the recent past. Off of the top of my head I can think of cheap neon lights, glass etching, backlit marquee frames, CNC routed wood carvings, and even flyer collage pictures that all appeal to your same audience.

Also, can you do different sizes? 5"x7" doesn't appeal to me, I'd be more interested in something 11"x17" or larger. 24"x24" would be ideal for a project I have in mind.

I think the player communities and retro chic people would be more interested in your character portraits, especialy in the 5"x7" size (perfect for a shelf).

How does it look on the wall or on something? Is it a light behind it since it's backlit and then has a cord or run on batteries? I guess I don't quite understand how it works.

Thanks for the feedback. I can do upto 8x10 but the cost goes up just b/c of the cost of the material. And then the time that it takes to actually cut with the router is close to doubled. It takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to cut a 5x7. The cost to do one 24x24 in just the material to be carved would be about $100.

They are about 2.25" thick and have a lip on the back that could be used to hang them from the wall. All of the ones that I have done so far are backlit with leds. They are powered by plugging them into the wall. I've been working on a way to power them by battery but the LEDs take 12vDC. Could even wire them up to turn on and off with the power on a machine.

The lithos with the frames are backlit with LEDs. Currently a plug in would need to be used. For just the carved material with or w/o the base the optimal place to put these is in a window or on a window sill.

Are the LEDs some kind of kit? Most commercially available LEDs will operate just fine on 5-6vdc. At that voltage level battery packs are easy to find or even build. Of course, I do recognize that any reengineering will add to cost so it may not matter.

I'll send you a PM...
