So, my skateboard controller needs greasing. I don't have any of the grease that is called for in the manual, but I do have some high pressure and high temperature automotive grease designed for wheel bearings. Anyone see any reason why I shouldn't use this? I figure it's probably a higher spec grease than what is required, but it may be too thick for this. Anyone have any experience with non-standard grease?

if its that fry anythings better then whats in there now. I would actually take the time to clean the old krap(dirt pop etc) out and not just slap more grease in there... but i dont see why it wouldnt work for ya..

btw if you ever need boards lmk i have a whole boardset(every board thats in the frt end behind the monitor)
i *might* even have a manual.....

I'm starting to get into maintenance-related ish on all our original 5 games, heh. Top Skater was one of them, can never seem to get the friggin thing to center right.

how frequently does it need to be greased? I should check arcarc... see what's needed.

btw, wtf are the main boards at, they're like next to impossible to get to, reason I ask is cause I wanna check the +5V on the PSU. I cracked open House of the Dead today and found the +5 pot was at max at 5.77V. WTF!

your boards are int he frt end, behind the big metal cover behind the monitor mecha

should be a lock there and 2 screws... ps, wiring, boards, its all there...

yeah, that monster's in our golf building for the summer months, I don't get to tinker with anything I have in there during this time of year, just been trying to fix everything else. sucks being the sole tech vs. 60+ games. even more-so that I don't live near work anymore, so if the weather's real bad, I can't make the drive out there.

I'm getting there, though.

how do you get at the grease points, you just lift the skateboard up just enough by hand or do you have to start tearing out floor panels? that's seriously the game of all our stuff that just worked fine over the years and I never had to touch it, so I'm not too familiar with it.

There is a grease point in the panel in the front facing towards you if you're on the deck. There is a grease point under the nose and tail of the skateboard deck, there are piston style brakes under the floor panels, that cushion the swing from side to side that should be greased. There is a grease fitting for an automotive grease gun for the bearings that move on the curved tack. You have to remove the floor panels, and then there are two metal plates on each side, and you have to remove the plastic cover that moves side to side with the deck. This is a pain, but under the metal plates I found a MOUNTAIN of dust and other crap.
