I'm repairing a Top Skater I got from an auction house. Mostly works but the board sliding part ( side to side movement) has
an issue. It will side to the easily to the left but when sliding to the right it gets bound up. Moves but the further it slides the harder it gets.
I have greased the fittings and sprayed the rail with grease . Also removed the brake fitting and the other gear connected to the front of
the board. So the problem is in the rear where it slides on the curved rail. Not sure what to do next.

Its just gummed up slide bearings or the track. Keep working on that and it should break loose and move smoothly. Track has to be super clean and rust free. Same with bear assy. Use lots of bearing grease. By clean I mean clean grease BTW.

I've cleaned the heck of the rail. New grease . It still binds up when sliding to the right. It gets harder as you slide it more
Starts out fairly loose , but if you slide it al the way to the right, to bumper, it will bind up pretty tight.
Now I'm thinking maybe the rail is somehow not curved correctly, or maybe the bearings . But on the left side its free and very
easy to move. maybe some overweight guy jumped on it ?

Main shaft isn't broken is it? If its original shaft I would think it broke all did so we made a beefier unit to swap out. May still be available thru Angela at Play It if so.

I don't think that the shaft is broken. The gear at the end moves as I slide the board left and right .
I've removed the brake, and the poentiometer sensor gear assembly. So im just looking
at the gear that mates to the sensor assembly, as I move the board left and right it moves left and right.
I think its binding on the curved rail, but can't figure out why. Thanks for helping me with this.

I don't remember how lower part of rail is seated to floor of cab but if its a adjustable, maybe it shifted. Just verify alignment as it moves around rail slowly and see where its binding. You're going to have to get pretty close in there to see it clearly as pillow bearing moves around tracks / rails.

I removed all the hex socket screws from the rail. Now the board moves freely to the right side. So it was binding against the rail. Doesn't seem to be any adjustment , so i'll put the screws back one at a time and try to mount it ,so it doesn't bind. I feel relieved though, that I'm getting there. The rail is still in the same place it didn't move when I removed the screws.

Fixed ! I put back all the hex screws holding the rail. Did one a t a time while moving rail back and forth after each screw was installed. The board slides very freely now both ways. Tightened the screws and it's good. Thx for helping out with this.
