I was at CAX last year, couldn't make it this year, but I for one would like to hear more top 10 CAX moments and not so much bickering. I'm hoping to be at CAX next year.

Actually, Im not sure I will be at CAX next year. We all talked about going up to the Seattle show next year. Never been, and I hear that city is awesome to visit. Maybe it will fall on the weekend of a Mariner game, too.

Eff it, I'll prolly be at CAX too.

I'll see you at the Seattle Show next year!

Yes... come to the Seattle show... mwuhahahaha.

2012 will be the last year at the current location (at the Seattle Center), as they're turning that area into KEXP's (local indie radio station) new studio.

Sounds like the West Coast has everything under control for extreme entertainment! If a plane ticket didn't cost me $1000 (on top of lodging, etc) i'd love to visit CAX. Any of you want to take in a North Eastern refugee next year ;)?
I hope one day it becomes much easier to integrate the west side klov to the east side klov.

We were discussing teleportation this weekend for that very reason!

I had a great time hanging with a lot of different people this year.
It was great to play a game of DK with someone who can play at the same level as me,even with the control issues.
Jess is a great guy and I hope next year he can escape the family and stay at the hotel to party with everyone else.
Friday night was a blast drinking beers with Phet,Chris,Wendy and M1A,who joined us a bit later.
They are all great people and fun to drink with.
Jawhn, well what can I say he is Jawnh lol.
There were so many I can't list them all here but you know who you are.
Sneaking in Friday night to play games was great because I got to play ones that usually have lines to play on Saturday.
Adam what ever his name is just doesn't get it. Cax is about meeting a lot of the guys from the forum, hanging and drinking
and just generally having a good time as well as playing the games. You can't do that hanging out in your dingy basement.
It was nice to talk to the KLOVERS without having to type on a damn keyboard.
On a side note, there were so many hot Jehovah witness chicks I just might convert.:D
Jawhn kept tripping on his tongue lol.

Question for you west coast KLOVers.. out of all of east coast and midwest KLOVers.. who would you most look forward to meeting at CAX?

Noice, without a moment's hesitation. (Sorry, ArcRevival...)

So where was this located? and how can I get more information on it? I liked the Midwest gaming expo but id like something with more arcade related things. I saw all these Cax theads but wasn't sure what it was all about.

Top CAX non-game related moments:

1 (tie). The Padres/Giants game with Todd, Jim and Eric (M1A, cleverlyj & evb). Great ballpark. Great game. Great company. In a perfect world, the Padres hit a one out 2 run homer to go up 3-2 instead of a game ending double play. Oh well. Seeing The Beard was neat. That thing is surreal. I'm sure it is real, but would bet my last dollar he uses Just For Men. :D Though having Trevor Hoffman for 15 years and Heath Bell, I am spoiled in that regard.

1. (tie). The Sunday evening BBQ at Eric's (EVB) that I almost decided I did not have time for since I was driving back to my brother's 5 hours away yet that night. The shrimp was to die for. The rest was delicious as well. You have a beautiful wife and she and your friends made us feel right at home. Thank you for your hospitality.

3. Hanging out at the bar and at various other places with fellow KLOVers too numerous to list.

4. Round Table Pizza.

Game related ones to come shortly...

Well, I am now in the lobby at the Hyatt, and there are about 400 business men having some sort of group shin-dig... and here I thought I was gonna be stuck here all by myself!! ;)

I thought about creating my own thread to discuss this, but I'll just not and instead post it here.

The very best thing about CAX and this hobby in general, to me, is the people. I've gotten what I consider some really great friends from participating in this hobby, and I place a great value on those friendships.

Had an awesome time this weekend, and will always enjoy seeing you all at future parties, events, and each and every CAX.

As I said the other day, best CAX ever.

That is all.

really, the best thing at cax was getting to see and hang out with all of you.

jawhn, you were a great roomie. we totally gave dave the symphonic snoring.

todd, eric, and andy, it was awesome to hang out with you at the game and on friday as well. the more i hang out with you guys, the more i feel like i've known you for a long long time. (oh, and the ihop, round table, and in'n'out every day was great too)

jon (frizz), the same goes for you, bro. we hung out and i feel like i've known you in person for a lot longer than just a few days. glad to finally meet you.

shawn, great to meet you and hang out with you and chris! i would've worked out with you in the morning, but well, it would've been a workout for me to work out with you. for our sake, there will be a satan's hollow next year, even if i have to bring mine. still jealous of the sick breakfast ride you guys had.

joe, and angela, you guys are the nicest, coolest people out there. seriously. i wish you could've come out to the game. it was awesome. we need to game more next year.

dave (30fathom), cool to hang out with you, and i don't want to see your ass ever again. :)

jehuie, great to see ya. i'm glad we could help you out with the tempest, and i'm glad (and i think you are) that you sold it. i would've felt guilty and flown out to lysol that bastard out for ya if you had to haul it back with you.

to anyone else i missed, it was great to hang out with you all.

bottom line, you all are what makes cax so great. i seriously think we could hang out at a place without any games whatsoever, and still have a kickass time.

Jim, ditto. And I'm on my cell, so not gonna get long-winded, but I agree with everyone so far..

I just got home and got all the games back in the EdGarcade. I'm way too beat to come up with 10. Needless to say, it was great meeting and seeing all of you in the flesh.

Probably the coolest thing that happened to me was that I had three different people approach me throughout the weekend and tell me the Spy Hunter sit down is one of their main reasons for going to CAX. I thought that was awesome.

The best for me, as many have already said, is hanging out. I didn't really play all that much, but I enjoyed the games I did play. It was nice to meet yet a few more of the members here. There are still quite a few I didn't talk to, but there is always next year.

I also really enjoyed seeing people enjoying my games. The Hydro Thunders were pretty much played constantly all weekend, which I liked. Unfortunately, one of the force feedback motors didn't survive, so that isn't quite as much fun.

The Stunt Cycle also got a lot of play, and I am really glad I was able to pick one up to bring to the show (thanks Tom!). I saw a lot of people there that walked up to the game with a big smile, just like I did when I picked it up. Fun times.

I played mostly Pinbot and Robotron. Hopefully I will play neither next year since I hope to pick them both up. I try not to play games I own down there. :)
