I have a Toobin' with no monitor. Everything else appears to be there and the operator I got it from said he pulled the monitor since it was bad and wasn't able to get a new monitor to work because he didn't know it needed a medium resolution monitor.

I'm trying to see if it's worth using an EGA to VGA converter or multi res monitor such as this: http://www.arcademonitor.com/Arcade-Monitors-for-Sale/19-inch-lcd-arcade-monitor.php and getting it up and running again.

I plug it in and the water fall actually works. I can hear it coin up with a "bong" noise but there is nothing else. I press start (both sides) but I can't hear any other noises.

Suggestions?

Is the game supposed to make any noises in attract mode? All I hear is the coin up noise, nothing else. I'd like to know that it plays blind before investing in an LCD and/or converter.

I'm going to have to check, but I do NOT think mine has noises in attact mode. It makes a sound at power up, and that's it. (iirc)

Toobin' does play a song in attract mode, but it takes a good 5 or 10 minutes to start. Note that the Atari "bong" sound happens at power up both when started in game mode and started in test mode.

If you try to add credits after hearing that sound and you get nothing, try powering down and flipping the test switch...then try to add credits and start again.
