Hello,
I have recently purchased a Toobin' cab in non-working condition. When the machine is powered on, the game powers on, I can hear all the sound and music that go with it, however this is no video on the display. I noticed that a fuse was blown on the monitor chassis which I replaced, and then once I powered it on, I noticed a burning smell. Seems most likely that the chassis is bad rather than the screen.

Since this is my first game that I bought with the intent of repairing, I was wondering what kind of advice anyone might be able to give for diagnostics of the chassis or the monitor, and if the chassis needed to be replaced, is that something that I would still be able to purchase?

Also, the 4 pin video extension cable(I guess that's what it's called) seemed to get burnt up with its previous owner, it crumbled at my touch and I can't seem to find very much information about that, where would I find a new plug for that? I've been reading a good deal about these games, is the monitor chassis and gpu the same thing?

I would appreciate any and all assistance.

Thanks!

Post some pics and I should be able to help.
Monitor repairs I recommend arcadecup.com

Toobin uses a med res monitor and can be expensive to replace if it is not there, someone may have replaced it with a cheaper standard res monitor not knowing there is a difference.

Jake, thanks for the response. I have taken a couple photos and attached. I apologize if they're not clear or too small, the forum made me cut them down considerably.

Are you thinking that this issue is more because of a monitor rather than the chassis?

your pins are bent on the monitor neck and is missing a plastic piece, I hope the tube is not physically broken or you might be screwed. did you remove the monitor boards or was it like that?

I dont know why the monitor connector would be burnt, i have not seen that but perhaps some might be able to chime in about that. It looks like that correct monitor for the game, but i always have a hard time determining standard or medium.

Jake, can you elaborate a little bit on the bent pin on the monitor neck and the plastic piece? Are you referring to the yoke where the piece of the chassis plugs in? Upon further inspection I did notice that one of those pins is in fact missing, could that be part of my issue?

I did remove the board so I could test the capacitors and such.
