Toobin K7000 series medium res, screen shrink/expand

I am almost positive of my issue, but I thought I would ask the experts just to be sure. My Toobin's K7000 series medium res monitor has it's image quickly expand and contract. Sometimes it is rock solid stable, other times, not so much. I have given it a cap kit and replaced the flaky monitor connector on the harness. From my reading, I conclude that the original white knob flyback needs to be replaced. What do the monitor experts say?

I would do that, yes. And maybe replace the VR or filter cap if that doesn't help.

Glad to know you have a Toobin' as I have a chassis from a Toobin' to repair soon that I'll need to test...

First i would start on a cold power up and start tapping the chassis and see if the image changes with the tapping. Then you have a crack solder joint or trace. If it does not do it until its warm then i would check the v. output, v/h osc ic for thermal shutdown by cooling it with a can of freeze(non-conductive).
You could also take off your video and sync from the chassis and turn up your screen control so you can see the raster and see if it still does it without the game board connected, which would tell if the board was screwing up(rare but it happen once so i dont rule it out).
If you did a cap kit, did you replace the caps around the v/h osc ic since they could be trying to shut it down but just not quite bad enough yet to do so.
