Too tall! Make a base for DK/Nintendo cabs? What else?

Has anyone gotten to the point of making a base for a Donkey Kong cab to sit on so that it is comfortable to play? I'm 6'4", and I can't see the while monitor standing. Sitting is particularly bad on these machines for some reason. Legs get in the way. :). Anyone have creative solutions?

I'm over 6'4" as well. My plan at some point is to build a 6 inch riser in the game room for all the games to sit on.

Good idea! Could be a problem when you want to slide games out to work on them?

Isn't surprising that the cabs that are most problematic for tall people are from Japan. :)

I'm 6'2" and I just sit on a bar stool. I'm so used to it now I can't remember the last time I stood up for a game.

Honestly, I am 6'5" and I do not have much of a problem on my Nintendo cabs. I've mastered the "partial slouch". Doing this means I can keep my games at their normal height, which is more catered toward the "little people"...I mean the everyone beneath me...I mean those inferior to me...I mean the general masses.

Lol... Slouching will eventually cause you back problems.

6'4" here as well... I intend to install large casters on any machine I have that doesn't have them yet. This adds about 3-4" and it helps quite a bit for the ones i've done it to so far. (NeoGeo 4-25 v3, space invaders deluxe) I intend to install casters on my playchoice as well.

I added leg levelers to the base of my Popeye. Adds about 2 inches. Could put longer ones on there but I think it would be too wobbly.

Well, I'm 6'5", tall n' thin with a minor case of Spina Bifida. Back problems are nothing new to me lol. Yet "friends" often expect me to get on the bottom when loading/unloading arcades. It is what it is.

Bar stools work great for some games for me, but not Donkey Kong. Doesn't provide enough leg room.

Slouching isn't an option since I already have back problems. :) The only reasonable way to play so far is to have a really wide stance.

I'm 6'3" - I use a bar stool with a back. I even use a pillow for longer games. My 2nd choice would probably be casters. IMO, you lose some of the Nintendo charm with an excessively tall base or wood platform. Probably wouldn't matter in a row though.

I use a barstool when playing my DK cab... (6'4" here)...

I've used castors on 3 or 4 games... and then took them off. They SOUND like a good idea... but in practice... they're not. Stability is compromised... much more than one would think.

The only game that I kept castors on was Terminator 2...

The "deck" idea is a good one... but yeah, taking a game off the "deck" to repair it would suck.

Bro, my cabinets are nice and stable.

BTW the best way to play DK if you are tall is on a cabaret. The control panel is higher and the monitor can be viewed from most angles.

I don't really care for casters. I have a Moon Patrol cab on casters to see if I like it or not. . . ends up being a nightmare to move around with them.
