Too Many Pins?

I think there's something to be said for restraint in this hobby. The more you have, the more time you're spending WORKING on them rather than playing them.....and, the more you have, the less you're really enjoying/improving on certain games.

That might sound stupid coming from me, as I have 14 pins in my house and some extras in the garage....but I could go crazy and get more and more and more....and I really just want to play them, not work on them so much or hoard them. I mean, I know guys w/ 20, 30, or 40 games....and I bet there are games in those collections that don't get turned on for years. I mean - I guess if you have the room, why not ...but I think it's beneficial to keep things under control to some extent. :)

I told myself I was going to quit buying them, cuz I'm burnt out on working on them....I just failed, though - cuz I bought a No Fear the other day...lol. Never mind, don't listen to me...it's hopeless... ;)

Long answer is absolutely there is such as thing as too many. Pins are no different in the aspect of "let's say" having a person that buys every cheap piece of crap video game they can get their hands on. So the machines they posses may like look garbage ...who cares they play right? Well, the machines joystick is worn out and the buttons might be sticky or need new cherrys. The game works ... but it isn;t as much fun as a "well oiled" machine.
And let's say Joe Blow has 30 vids in his basement. Most of those games are unpopular titles ... unpopular no one wants to play them including Joe Blow. So all that person has is bragging rights.
Of course now transpose my analogy over to pins. That person can fit the "too many" pins. Plus you'll most likely find his pins will have worn out playfields and the action of his pins will be slow due to worn our parts.
Pins are expensive (even a $1000 machine needs maintenance) and when you have that many machines I could see a person easily getting over whelmed. Much like most OPS and why most routed pins suck lol.

And Greg made a very good point also. Having too many distracts you from really getting focused on a machine to fine tune your skills and master it.
Lindsey - wow just wow. Not that I should have to say this but you are on the other side of the spectrum. :D
