Ok,

So I have been collecting arcade games for the past few months and last Saturday I bought my first Pinball machine (Street Fighter 2) at the Compton Auction..

Tonight I scored two Williams machines Space Mission (4 Player) and Toledo (2 Player) EM machines from 1975... The best part is that I got each machine for $50.00.

Both machines are in great physical shape, however they both have the same problem.

I turn them on and everything lights up, targets move, however nothing else.. I push the credit button and nothing happens on either button..

Is anyone here familiar with Williams EM machines?

Thanks,

Chris

Are you coining them up first?

Start here:

Thanks for the info..

They were both set for free play.

I found a blown fuse in the Toledo machine and it fired right up.. The rubber needs to be replaced (Ordered it last night), and there is a loud noise coming from inside the body (kind of like a grinding motor. But is does work...

I has Yellow Banana shaped flippers...

The Space Mission had a blown fuse as well, replaced it and it fired up, however if I push the right flipper button it blows a fuse again... I think the coil is bad...

I will order a replacement and go from there...

Kind of cool machines..

Chris

They're cool machines but with rare exception EMs are not worth much. Non-working but complete they are around $100 so you got a good deal but not a tremendous score on those machines.

100% working those are maybe $250-$350 games.

Is the griniding constant or does it only happen during certain times like scoring? If it is constant it may be the reset motor in the cab and if it only happens during scoring there could be something misaligned or broken in your chime mechanism.

The flipper coil is likely bad. Check to see if it is shorted.

Seeing that Space Mission makes me a little cranky as someone bought one out from under me that I had already made a deal on with the seller. I hate when that happens.

My El Dorado blew fuses when one of the flipper switch contacts came off. That allowed the leafs of the switch to make full contact with eachother and blow the fuse. Besides the coil, you might check to see if one of the contacts are missing. Good luck and nice score!

There are way too many factors involved to make generalized statements like that.
